    Rattle noise from engine

Today is the 3rd day that my car is making rattling noises.. It comes from the head an get really bad at high idle. I dont have loss of power car pulls fine. It kind sounds like marbles under valve cover... I have a m52 single vanos obd1 cars has ran excellent for over a year..

It could be your timing is off. Mine was, and the noise was caused by the vanos changing the timing even more which caused slack on the wrong side of the tensioners.

Did you swap out the whole VANOS unit, or just the solenoid? Swapping the solenoid won't change a thing with your noise.

You torque down everything in the VANOS unit correctly?
