New paint with a custom color

This is my first project car, so I am pretty new to all this stuff. And I have definitely never removed this many things at one time.

paint removed and dents pulled and smoothed

it has now been primed, blocked, primed, and blocked again. Ready for sealer, and color.

The wing in natural mid day light.

The body in a white light.

And my personal favorite, the body in a yellowish ambient light.

Now I am waiting for the clear to cure so I can reassemble then wetsand and buff it smooth..
I just really hope I can put it all back together.

What do you guys think of the color? its not a factory color, its something I mixed. Car started as diamondshwartz, so I wanted to keep it similar.

The spray booth that we used was pretty dirty. I might rent out a different nice downdraft booth and re-clear the whole car after I wetsand it. Im not real happy with the stuff the clear picked up.

wont you have adhession issues if you simply spray an additional coat on top of an already cleared coat?

looks incredibly close to that newly completed v8 early model car.

                Definitely have to wetsand first.

And hey, I've got like 60 bucks in the wheels and tires hahaha. Once I get my m30b35 swapped in ill worry about getting some real wheels. The LS meshies are way better than the steelies the car came with.

Thanks ma somen. This paint has some crazy characteristics. Today it looked a bit OD green in the overcast sunlight.

The roof polished up nice today.

It polished so well I couldn't tell wtf I was looking at haha. Your garage door reflects off the roof crystal clear.

Can you inform us of your automotive experience, paint experience, age? It seems like you've done this before, or at least have some background skills, but you made yourself sound like a n00b in the beginning.

Not sure how I feel about the color, seems a little "gold" for me, at least in that picture under the yellowish light.

Interested to see how this turns out pieced back together.

Lets see, I'm 22, and a senior in the mechanical engineering program at Suthern Polytechnic State University. I'm on the Formula SAE team there, so I have learned a lot from that. I have been working as a CNC machinist for the pat year, but I just landed a job with an.engineering consulting company.
my dad has been helping me with the paint. He has never worked in a body shop but has sold body shop materials and paint for the last few decades. He has painted probably 15 cars before.

I have painted quite a few smaller things before, from Pinewood Derby cars boasting House of Kolor paint when I was a kid to a friends frame off streetfighter build. I have hallways been kind of a car guy, but I have never been able to have a project car till now. I am using this car to see how much I can do and put what I have learned to use. Also, I want a fun little car for Autocross.

I am still confused where the gold came from in the paint, but it only shows in certain light. Its been overcast the past few days, its been killing me to see what it looks like in bright sunlight.
