'87 325is 5 speed with some mods FS in NC (Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill)

    SOLD

I am selling my 1987 325is. It's red (Zinnoberrot) with black interior, a 5-speed manual, and has some modifications I think almost everyone would enjoy.

Asking $2500 OBO. Update: I'm now asking $2200 OBO, because a pre-purchase inspection by a potential buyer turned up some rust under the car I did not know about. See pictures in album. (That buyer is still interested, but I think the car might fetch a higher price than his soft-offer). Contact me using PM.

    Link to full album: http://imgur.com/a/tpAZK

    The good:
    • This car is mechanically well cared for. A pre-purchase inspection by a potential buyer showed no major mechanical issues. (See my list of selected maintenance history below.)
    • Passed North Carolina safety inspection in April 2012.
    • Interior is clean. See pictures.
    • All the electronics (windows, sunroof, locks) still work without problem.
    • See the modifications below for a list of many expensive parts.

    Some modifications:
    • SSR Competition forged alloy wheels (SSR comps).
    • UUC EVO3 short shift kit (with UUC stainless steel shift knob).
    • UUC Double Shear Selector Rod (DSSR).
    • Triflo cat-back exhaust.
    • Lowered on Bilstein Sport shocks / Eibach springs.
    • M Technik 2 steering wheel (BMW part number 32 33 2 226 086). Excellent condition.
    • Smoked euro headlights by Hella. They are the "cross hairs" style (Fadenkreuz). City lights are wired to come on in first switch position (with the side-marker and tail lights).
    • K&N conic-style intake (don't know what kind). Comes with a K&R filter recharge kit.
    • Redline fluids.
    • Alpine head unit with 3.5mm aux-in for connecting an iPod, phone, or whatever.
    • Amplified cabin speakers and two 10" subs on a separate amp in case you want to remove them for extra trunk space.
    • Smoked turns (Turner motorsport).
    • Leather e-brake and shifter boots.

The bad (all shown in pictures):
    • Needs tires. Passed safety inspection, but they're getting low.
    • Rear seat missing 10 or so stitches at the top near the window.
    • Front air dam fog lights are broken and the air dam is cracked on the passenger side from hitting a goddamn tire retread on the highway.
    • 2 rock chips have started to surface-rust on the hood.
    • There is some rust on the underbody. See the pictures in the album from a pre-purchase inspection!
    • A/C needs a charge, but is otherwise intact and was inspected by a mechanic.

Selected maintenance history from my receipt binder. I'm not including small stuff like oil changes in this. In reverse chronological order.
    • 08/27/11 New battery.
    • 01/15/10 New ignition wire set. New NGK copper spark plugs.
    • 01/06/09 (183k mi) New (remanufactured) steering rack. New power steering belt. New coolant level sensor.
    • 11/24/08 New radiator. Replace coolant.
    • 08/13/08 (180k mi) Fuel injectors inspected and cleaned by Marren Fuel Injection. All 6 injectors moved 45 cc of fuel per minute after service. Refaced intake manifold. Replace intake gasket.
    • 06/18/08 Valve adjustment. Replace valve cover gasket. Replace oxygen sensor. Replace rocker shaft seals.
    • 01/16/08 Replaced an ABS sensor.
    • 01/14/08 (175k mi) Replaced brakes. UUC slotted brake rotors and Hawk Performance Ceramic pads (HB195). Replaced hand brake shoes.
    • 08/13/07 Replaced left rear wheel bearing. Converted brake lines to stainless steel lines.
    • 11/21/06 Replaced front upper shock mounts.
    • 08/04/06 (161k mi) Replaced rear transmission seal and shifter shaft seal. Replaced clutch. Replaced shift joint. Installed UUC EVO3 short-shift kit and DSSR. Redline transmission fluid.
    • 07/29/06 Replaced differential half shaft seals. Redline differential oil.
    • 05/16/06 (156k mi) Replaced timing belt, timing belt tensioner, v-belts, thermostat, water pump, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, coolant.

That is a cheap-ass awesome car for someone who is good with rust repair and paint work. If I knew jack shit about rust I would be banging your door down.

What a super example. VERY neatly tucked DB's. I love DBs.

Bump because I just added under body pictures. A potential buyer did a pre-purchase inspection, and we found some rusty parts. I dropped the price accordingly.

The buyer is still interested, but I think I might be able to find a better price here.

See the NEW pictures at the end of the album album.

I'll respond to texts and voicemails tomorrow, since it is late now.
