The GOOD (In addition to what is posted above...)
I saved this beautiful car from it's P.O. who just bought it because it was trendy and drove the shit out of it. Once I got it I realized what was wrong and went to town. All the mechanical stuff is inspected, and either fixed or upgraded. The car is 100% rust free originally from Washington, and it sat in a barn for a good amount of time which preserved it very well. The P.O. had a stack of receipts/records, but being the guy that he is he didn't bother to take them with upon sale of the vehicle. I can tell that the ABS system, brake booster, brake hard lines, and soft-lines were all replaced prior to storage. I am also sure just to to the clean nature of this car that it had been very well taken care of by the first owner. The car at this point in time does not leak a drop, and it starts and idles perfectly every time. It is definitely one of the cleanest e30's in the Midwest and I hope someone takes it out of the rust belt. The car has NEVER seen salt as I have stored it over the winters, and the P.O. is from California where the car was prior to me buying it.
The BAD
-The core support, some spots in the engine bay, hood, valance, rear trim end pieced, Is lip, and bumpers all need paint. The bumpers and hood are pretty much prepped and the rest is in need of prep. The core support and valance need the most attention, especially the valance. The valance has some slight bends that can easily be worked out, and has rock chips that need to be smoothed. I also want to note that one of the bolt locations on the hood was drilled out, and either needs a pressed in replacement, or a new hood if you are really particular... (Like me! Wasn't stoked on the hood...) I was in the middle of prepping everything for paint when I ran out of funds to finish the car.
-Left side of the gauge cluster only lights up. Not sure if the is due to being an automatic, or if the board is damaged...
-Cluster bulbs pulled. At some point the P.O. half ass'ed the brakes and didn't use the wear sensors. The front are only in need of new lines, the rear need to have end connectors spliced on (I think?) Also, ABS main fuse blew I think and the light was on, so I pulled that bulb when I rebuilt the odometer.
-Really could use some sport seats and a mint or recovered rear seat.
-3 Small cracks on the dash not shown in pictures. Really small and I totally could just lie to you and say it's crack free, but I wouldn't feel right...
-Head has unknown miles since rebuild, and in my opinion it could use it, but compression is good and isn't very loud compared to a fresh head.
-Brakes are fine, but again the P.O. was CHEAP! He did the brakes at all four corners, and front wheel bearings right before I bought it and put shitty pads and rotors on...
-Alternator may have a bad bearing...
-Central locking system doesn't work ATM. More than likely needs the black fuse box replaced, and I have an extra that will be put in.
