    Next_Project: 1978 Batavus Starflite

Welp, time to take a break from working on the e30 (even though it needs some fresh brakes) to build up this badass machine:

    It's a 1978 Batavus Starflite VA II Moped, M-48(cc) 2-stroke engine.

It will be getting completely disassembled, cleaned, sanded, painted/plated, and reassembled with fresh hardware.

    More to come...

I don't get it... you forsake e30 for rusted moped? Is this the next hipster movement?

My e30 is fresh. It just got $500 worth of parts. I was just saying brakes are next.

What for are you gonna spray it? Red or black with gold or white lettering would be bomb.

                Craiglist, Downtown San Jose, $240.
It ran & no rust in the tank but naturally it wasn't good enough..
He has a non-running Vespa Caio for $100 as well, It needs to be gutted though as the tank has rust.

Don't mind my messy garage. Sanded fenders & exhaust.

                  Sanded head light assembly.

UPDATES: Almost every piece has been cleaned and/or sanded. Lots of pieces have paint but none have been wet-sanded or polished.

Just an update since this thread was bumped. The engine and carb have been rebuilt & the frame painted. I remounted the engine with new belts etc. I was in the process of painting everything when I decided I'd rather have the parts powdercoated. Being that the school semester is in session, the project is on pause until this summer.
