The Klub Vintage shop car...1976 2002...rat-racer

SOOOOO...when we picked up this 2002 it was a stock driver finished in doodoo brown primer, ran well but quite a bit of rust that we're going to be repairing. But it's a sunroof and A/C car and the drivetrain have been well maintained...too bad we're pulling it to swap in an m42!

First came some color...you either love em or hate em...

Then came a sweet wooden MOMO...

    Then we started to cut...

And shape, using e21 wheel arches as fender flares:

    And weld:

    BEFORE:

    AFTER:

A quick paint job to the rear decklid:

Installed some new lower seat skins:

Interior after new skins on both seats:

    Before:

    After:

There's LOTS more to do and this is only stage one of the process, so stay tuned and we'll post pics along the way! She's meant to be a rat-racer that we are building as our shop track car, so she's going to be rough around the edges but mean and fast!

Looking good man! What size are the XXRs...offset and tire size? A buddy of mine is thinking about a set for his turbo m42 e21.

I see what you mean about purple...

Interesting, certainly not my cup of tea but to each their own. What sanctioning body/class do you plan on running in?

Those wheels fit surprisingly well. Not a fan of the wheel color, but hey, our track rat is covered in half an inch of yellow housepaint.

Looking forward to the performance part of this build! Maybe it'll inspire me to start working on mine again.

Thanks guys! It's early on and I've got so much planned for it but with so many cars in the shop right now our time on it is limited.

Jake...Wheels are 16x8 et0...I will place my order shortly but I'm trying to decide if we're going to turbo it or not...leaning towards a yes!

Deutschman...NO ;0 car came in that poop brown rattle can. I painted and pinstriped the rear decklid the other day but I have more rust to tackle before painting anything else, plus I'm planning more of an "artcar" theme for the paint design.

Huh, nice start. The whole roughness/color a.d.d. kinda works for me.
