    Cars & Coffee 8/3/2013 - Franklin, TN

Great turnout today. I met some new enthusiasts and reconnected with others. There was a surprise as things were winding down (and after lots of folks had already left). Here are some of the cell phone pics I took (click here for the full gallery):

Lola was welcomed to the BMW row...

    ...next to Murray's awesome E34 M5

A minty L6 the lady said was "her youngest child"

    Gorgeous E24 M6

    Some nice looking E28 drivers

The Porsches were out in force

Plenty of exotics, new and old

Nice crowd for an informal, unorganized event

    The surprise:

I'm seriously not intrigued by the Veyron AT ALL. For doing anything other than what the Top Gear boys did with it, it's useless. There's no use for 1000 hp in a street car, not to mention, one that ugly.

That Lamborghini Uracco is badass, easily my favorite car of the bunch, followed obviously by all the BMWs.

Hugo, you and I are apparently the only people that think so. I'll agree the Veyron has the "wow" factor and the engineering is bonkers, but I think the car is mostly just a super-luxury item. I'm willing to bet that most of the owners will never actually drive them how they were meant to be driven, and those that do will inevitably wreck them because they have no idea how to drive a 1000hp car. For $1m you can have a high end dedicated race car and a street super car, plus like, an e30 M3, an e28 M5 and a 2002.

Awesome pics. Its actually kind of amazing how small the Veyron is in person. I wasn't expecting it at all.
