selling my 1990 BMW e30 325i
It does have a SALVAGED title however, the salvage was due to an accident in the rear drivers side of the car two or three owners ago.
Since I've bought it 2 years ago, I've spent much time tending to it and trying to restore it
The e30 has a rebuilt m20 that was swapped in around February of this year due to the previous engine having a cracked head.
The car is pretty much stock but has had some major work done within the last year
recent work done:
-swapped M20, resealed, with a rebuilt head (purchased second hand from a local e30 enthusiast who originally picked it up in an e30 off of Ireland Engineering)
-New fuel pump
-New Fuel pump relay
-Fan replaced 2013
-New Throttle Body
-New Idle control valve
-New water pump
-Timing belt replaced during swap
-Engine Mounts replaced 2013
-Car has been tuned up twice at South Bay Independent within the last year.
The biggest problem with this car since I've had it has been the fuel system.
The main issue being that the gas tank rusted while the car sat in my driveway when the previous engine was cracked. If the car is slightly low on gas the fuel pump may start whining. The previous owners also had a broken fuel level sensor so they would constantly drive the car low on gas. I have installed a new Fuel level sensor the same time the swap was done.
One other issue that came up with the e30 was a grinding noise coming from the transmission. I topped the tranny with fluid and the noise disappeared for about a week. When it came back I did a full flush it got rid of the noise. However It comes sometimes when the car runs cold, but is now very very very faint. you have to really listen to hear it.
Being a 24 year old car, it does have some wear and tears
The e30 still has the original red (brilliantrot) color but has faded and is no longer shiny
The dashboard has cracks, however the interior has no rips in the original leather seats or panels, but the rear seats have some sun damage due to the previous owner having the car just sit
Sunroof works, Power steering has gone out, AC has just gone out
The car has a good sound system with a Kenwood radio.
Bumpers have cracks, but overall body is straight
The car also comes with a Viper alarm system.
The e30 has very low miles around 108000 and less then 1000 miles since the swap
This car is a perfect DD or project.
All problems with the car are minor. All this car needs is a new paint job and a drop to look real nice.
I am asking $3200 OBO
I know I won't get as much as I've put into this car back, but a reasonable offer can convince me to let go of this car
