Seat Parts (rails, mechanisms, foam, headrests, etc.)

No parts for sale anymore but check out the info below if you are restoring seats...

    FYI, Useful links:

Last but not least, you can recover and sanitize you old foam with a handheld steamer, and glue a 1/2 inch backing of high density foam to restore the plushness.

FYI rails, side mechanisms, and head rests will fit both comfort and sport seats.

Do you have the backing to a driver seat. Like the panel that covers the innards?

I have some sport seats that sometimes won't stay locked in their reclining position, and my passenger side rear of the seat is practically crooked (fat girlfriend from old owner maybe?)

So I'm thinking inner/outer mechanisms for both sides, but you might know better than me. Will get pics if it helps
      I am that, which is.

In regards to your seats, you are going to have to dismantle them to properly diagnose what is damaged. To remove the seats you need to raise them and unbolt the four 17mm bolts/nuts of each seat.

        Points you have to check:
        1. Remove the back cover and remove the screws that attach the side mechanism to the backrest frame, Check that the tab where the screw goes in is not broken or has a lot of play and check that the frame itself is not cracked where the tab is aligned.
        2. Remove the side covers and lube the side mechanisms, sometimes they are just sticky, if lubing them does not solve the position issue, the teeth may be worn and you definitively need a new side mechanism.
        3. With the seats outside of the car, check the bottom frame for cracks/bents, if you see cracks you will need to weld it or source a good frame.

Thanks for the great info. This should probably be in the DIY section also!

Good work. I have bookmarked a few of the pages in my research. Thank you for putting it all together.

To find less expensive seat shocks would be wonderful.

Please consider this tthread, too, for sport seat details with many pictures:
