Not sure how often these come up on here, but I have a 1987 325is engine that was stroked to a 2.7L a couple years ago. It is a GREAT running engine! It whips you in the back of the head in 1st and 2nd gear. Highway pulls are good, as well. Lots of torque:devil:
Info on the engine:
M20 2.7L.
280k miles (not sure if this is accurate or not - I think it may be WAY less. Car was originally Canadian so it has the euro odometer, and it says 415k km on it. I don't believe the engine has this many, as it was pulled from Seattle.)
Idles at about 6-700 RPM.
NEVER track raced.
Supposedly around 190-200 horsepower according to previous owner.
Safe to say the bottom end is an eta, and the top portion is out of an iS. Which would explain high, incorrect mileage and wear on the engine.
Overall, the engine runs great. I have had zero issues with it. The only thing that is wrong is the vaccum leak. Nothing else is wrong, as I take an autoshop class and get to work and maintain the motor everyday.
Now, I have never sold an engine or anything, and I don't see strokers come up too much, so although I would have someone shoot an offer, I'll put a price up as $800 for everything? Does this seem reasonable? That includes the ECU, engine, wiring and 5-speed transmission (clutch, too). If not, let me know and I will adjust it. Again, not too experienced here haha. Shoot me a PM! Shipping available upon request.
