    eta fuel injectors vs i FI

    i know i know, real stupid question... but*,, its driving me crazy...

    that clicking ahh!! i just got my valves adjusted last week.. i was there when bmw mech was doing it (i love working at dealership) anyway... the valves no longer clicked, but he said the more milder clicking i heard, were the fuel injectors, he said they still worked fine, they just click when they get old...


    its driving me crazy,, i hate it,, i still have the injectors from my 83' 528e and i remember they never clicked,, i was looking online at places like bavauto. and the 2 fuel injectors have dif part numbers, and the ETA fuel injector is doulbe the price of the "i".. why!?!? will the eta injector not give my engine enough fuel (spit fast enough) thanks...

    ETA Injectors are low impedance, I injectors are High impedance, You can run I in an e but not vise versus. IF you put the ETA's in an I the injectors will try to draw to much power and fry the ECU injector driver.
    The eta injectors also don't flow as much lb/hour of fuel as the I. Try some 19lb mustang injectors in your I, a good set can be had for cheap.

        I don't mean to thread jack but I have a question on this. Hanes says that up to 9/1984 the resistance was 2-3 ohms then 10/1984 and on were 14.5-17.5 ohms. It says that the I's were 14.5-17.5 ohms. my eta engine is 07/1984 so does that mean I can't use I injectors or is haynes just wrong?. I'm using an 021 ecu right now also.

          I don't know measure the resistance of yours. I don't have any after 84 ones to tell except for the I's.
