is anyone interested in my e30?

K i dont want to sell it, ive put way to much money into it but i might have to its just a god damn expensive car and i need a cheap ass reliable car to bring down to florida next month i dont know how much to ask for it but im just curious to see how much i could get for it

    its an 87 325i with around 220,000miles
    5 speed manual tranny

    THE GOOD-
timing belt done less then 5k miles ago
oil is mobil 1 extended performance 15w50
    just had power steering flushed
    and coolant flushed
differential fluid was just recently replaced with Redline gearlube
Redline MTL was added to tranny
    has brand new bosch sparkplugs
has custom 2.5" exhuast with high flow cat and flowmaster muffler
    19lb fuel injectors
    has a short shift kit
    stainless steel braided brake lines
    cross drilled rear rotors
    oem rotors in the front
    new brake pads all around
has 16x7" i was told they are either Borbets or MB motorsport wheels
with kuhmo ecsta 711's with alot of tread left
    20mm spacers
    eibach springs
    bilstein sports(apparently revalved by alpina)
    brand new control arms
    new m3 CAB's
    new sway bar links
it also has plastic front and rear bumpers
breyton front and rear air dams
has iS sport seats they're some what riped up on the bolsters but that can be replaced
    has bavarian autosport black floormats
    has aiwa cd deck
    kicker 12" sub woofer
    crunch 200watt rms amp
two 5.25" sony speakers in the front
im sure theres more im forgetting but this is just a feeler anyway
oh yea i replaced the shift boots and ebrake boots with nice new ones no more accordian ebrake boot :-P

    THE BAD
rear main seal on tranny is leaking

only the driver side window works with the switch the rest of the windows need to be opened with an allen wrench i beleive either the window motors are toast or the switches

the ac does not work the heater blows nice and hot though

there is no ABS when i put the new suspension in i put struts in that did not have the abs connections

the shift linkage needs to be rebuilt

and im pretty sure some bushings in the rear end need to be replaced but other then that the car is good

and the central locking is kind of screwy but it works if you use the trunk lock i was thinking on putting in one of those 30$ keyless entry systems

there are a couple of scratches and small dings in the paint but its a silver car so its not nearly as noticable then other colors

Forgot to add that there are a couple very small rust spots but those are very unnoticable and would be an easy fix and hell it looks DAMN good for being through many many newengland winters

oh and the shift knob sucks its jsut some cheapo autozone one

    heres some pics

i have no idea what to ask for the car ive put lots of money into it so im wondering what it might be worth to someone again this is not a guarentee that im selling it

p.s i also think there MAY be a chip in it im not to positive but when i run 87 octane it pings like a mother fucker when i run 93 is runs like a beaut

oh and i also forgot i have TONS of receipts and service records from the day i bought it i bought the car almost 3 years ago and have only put about 5k on the odometer and i have pretty much every receipt from everything thats ever been done to it except the shocks and sprrings i got the timing belt done a couple weeks after i got the car

Man, I don't know what to tell you about the value of it, but I hate to see you get out so soon. You've done some good stuff so far, stick it out. Once you get those things sorted out needing attention, you'll be good to go. But if you must, good luck with the sale. ;)

        Try to keep that car!!!

If you can try to store it, you will get little for it compared to what you have in it, you have one great looking e30!!!jm

Only one way to find out

Yeh, your more than likely right, it is a very clean e30, and the items that are wrong could be fixed without a major expense. Post it for 4800.00 and see what happens.
West coast prices seem to be really different from back east.
Someone on the forum from back east could give you a better idea.
Oh did you put the front airdam on or did the po do that, looks very good on your car. jm

Any idea what it will cost to fix the car back to 100%?
And can you give me a detailed list of exactly what needs to be done. I like your car and its in the area i need to find one but i didnt want to have to do much work witht he car right away.
                    thanks

im in the milford/nashua area of newhampshire i drive 101A everyday

the PO put the front and rear valances on and the plastic bumpers i must admit they could have done a better job but eh...

the car is in good shape it runs strong but its getting tired 220,000 miles it needs nothing major its all little stuff like window motors, door locks and the shift linkage its mostly electrical problems which we all know e30s do not have the best electrical system i have never driven another e30 so i dont know exactly how a perfect condition e30 runs like perfect engine and tranny but mine seems fine pulls strong so with the problems that i KNOW the car has i'd say less then a couple hundred bucks to fix the problems windows motors are found cheap at junk yards i dont know how much central locking costs to diagnos and fix and the ac i havent even bothered with so im clueless about that ummm the ABS LIGHT IS ON the car DOES NOT have ABS when i upgraded the suspension i put NON abs struts in i must admit though it is a very harsh ride with the revalved bilsteins but it handles like its on fucking rails oh yea and im pretty sure it needs some bushings in the back i dont know exactly which ones but im sure it needs some and it would probably be smart to change the tranny and motor mounts .......the motor mounts are fine but one tranny mount is like jello but those are easy to replace and cheap i just havent gotten around to changing them yet ...but yea throw me some offers...i mean i know the rules state that i have to post a price but i mean i have no friggin idea what to sell this car for ive put alot of money into it and i absolutely hate to sell it but i might have too for the right price i need money for an apartment for school and just some cheap reliable beater...i can get pics on the motor, interior and under carraige if i need to

I am in a similar boat as you. My car is old, tired and I have recently sunk thousands into it. At the same time it is still not a new car, far from it. With
all the mods you have in it, you would never get them back. Maybe take all the "toys" off (keep for your next e30), return the car to stock, then sell it for for like 2,000k. I doubt you'd find someone wanting to pay 4k for it. Just my 2 cents.

If its only a couple hundred bucks to fix then i would fix it and then sell it.
I would pay that for a car in as good of condition as yours if there were no minor things wrong. Sure there all not a big deal but its alot easier to sell a car that is fully working then not.
With that being said ill look into prices for those things and get back to you.
