fuel tank

last week i had the car on lift and i was lookjing at my fuel tank. well its damage past it being able to be fixed. so i have to get a new/used on.
well i got an idea i have a old sx a1000 external fuel pump at home my old supra. and i want to use it. well my question is can i tap into the hard lines here and run 2 lines to a y union to the pump with out causing any problems? and has anyone ever tried anything like this?
