Early 325 shifter carrier (10 degree tilt)

Here's something that crossed my mind tonight. Have any of you with the early 325e (260) transmission / shifter carrier had any problems with the 10 degree rotation of the transmission?

The sheet metal shifter carrier mounts in two points on the transmission, orienting it with the 260 transmission (10 degrees rotated). That puts 10 degrees worth of pressure on the single mount on the rear end of the carrier. Any issues?

The mount at the rear is just a piece of rubber, I wouldn't worry about it much.

You can always switch to an aluminum one.

Because of the way the carrier mounts you cannot switch to the aluminum style.unless you have a trans that was made towards the end of prodution of the sheetmetal style,if your lucky enough they have the mounting points for each style carrier cast into the trans.

I just noticed the casting of my tranny has the holes in it for the aluminum carrier. I'm definitely switching, the sheet metal carrier is such a piece of sh*t design.

I once had my car in for service at the dealership, and they didn't tighten the tranny cross brace enough, so the whole thing dropped with just the engine and driveshaft supporting it. I made the dealership replace the shift carrier, because it got bent up and I could barely get it into 5th gear anymore.

Does the aluminum carrier have that giant piece of foam shoved above it, or is just with the sheet metal carrier?
