I was driving in Columbia tonight with my GF. They have been doing alot of road resurfacing and so they ground out about 6 inches of asphalt. Leaving the Concrete Cross walk protruding out.
It was dark and hard to see believe it or not. By the time i saw my pan wouldnt clear it, I was too late.
All i heard was a BAMMM, Ding ding ding. So far all the damage i have noticed has been to the Upper and lower pans, As well as one of the motor mounts. My friend picked up the part of the pan that got "sheared" he was driving behind me in his. I filed a report and will be seeking full compensation for the damage.
Since im a poor white boy, I had a cracked pan at the house. So i got that and a gallon of cheap oil. Bolted it up as well as i could and limped home. The leakage wasnt too awful and the engine stayed quiet and cool. I made sure it was topped off. I would have towed it but i have like 3 bucks to my name:puppy:
Here are the pics of pain, Apparently it sheared 3 bolts out of the upper pan threads.
