You can input the serial number I provided in my initial post at Valentines website (www.valentine1.com >> upgrades >> scroll down and you'll see it).

I just did this and I'm not sure what the results mean, so you may want to do this for youself; but as far as I know this one is a year old, or so.

Possession is legal everywhere but Washington, DC, and use is legal everywhere buy VA. In both jurisdictions there's a fine, and they can confiscate your detector.

I recently bought a V1. It's saved me from atleast 4 tickets ($1,600 + license). I drive on NJ 195 every day, which is a complete cluster fuck of x-band instant on. I pick up, depending on the amount of lead traffic, 95% of cops. The V1 is entirely worth it. If I did a decent amount of traveling to NYC i'd invest in a A-L. For the mean time though, i'm entirely set. By far the best investment i've made since a flesh light.
