    M50 Swap "kit" $2500

Afternoon all, it's a bittersweet day. As much as many folks want me to finish the M50 swap on my E30, after buying my new Speed3, I just don't have the heart for it. I'm going to keep the E30, but the M50 swap just has no power over me. I'm trying to tie up my money holes to pay for this car, and I just don't feel like finishing. A M20 stroker would be a good winter project, and it might be fun anyhow, so I'm going to sell my M50 stuff. I've got pretty much everything you need to put an M50 in an E30, and I'll sell it all for $2500 USD.

    What you'll get:
1995 BMW M50 Single Vanos OBDI, 150,xxx miles, good compression. Being from an E34, it has the proper oil sump and pan already. Complete from throttle body to oil pan.
    Full wiring harness.
    All six coils.
    ECU (Not EWS)
    MAFS
Plastic valve cover cover and injector cover
NIB Late E28 535i motor mounts
    M50 Starter (used)
    M50 alternator (used)
    E36 Mounting arms
    E36 Transmission
    E36 Throttle Cable
    NIB Transmission mounts
NIB Sachs Clutch Kit (for Dual Mass Fly)
    Never-used dual mass M50 flywheel
New valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, rear main seal cover gasket
    New metal impeller water pump,
    New Metal thermostat housing
    Ebay Stainless long tube headers
Stock OBDI exhaust manifolds (paperweights? Abstract art? You decide.)

One thing you will need is coolant hose #5:

The one I have is cut. I'd probably buy all new hoses if I were you. It's what I had intended to do.

I'll ship, but you'll pay shipping charges. I'm also always at NASA events at VIR or Summit Point, so I don't mind delivering to there. The engine and accessories are located in Harrisonburg, VA near JMU. Please feel free to ask questions, I know I'm new here and I know this is a lot of money so I'm trying to be as up front as possible.

    Thanks for your time.

Well, if I don't sell it all together I'm gonna put the silly thing in my E30. So, I guess the ECU would be 2500 bucks, and you get a bunch of free stuff with it.

I also forgot to mention that an E21 brake booster is included, but has not yet been modified.

I'm about to start changing gaskets on this motor, so if anyone would want this and wants to do the work themselves, they need to get with me. :)

Also, keep in mind that it's "or best offer", but I don't really want to part it out.

Please don't hesitate to ask questions.

Also, if anyone wants the whole enchilada, I could probably let everything I have (My '87 325es, it's parts, bilstiens and eibachs) go if someone were interested. Just a thought.

          Just swap it in.

It'll be easiest to get rid of an engine swap if it is already installed in a car. :D

That's probably what I'll end up doing, but before I get balls deep into the thing I wanted to see if anyone wanted to take it off my hands. I'm kind of feeling a SHO-Powered Locost, but that's probably just another bad idea. :-p

No, it doesn't, but if you really want it, I'm sure we could work something out.

I *think* I could fit everything on a boxed pallet. Maybe.

Ha, welcome to my world. I'm already balls deep into a 318is--engine pulled, cooling system maintenance done on donor M50, ready to drop in after mating trans to engine. Things are moving along pretty quickly. I think if you put your mind to it you could get it done in 3-4 weekends, taking it easy.

I could probably have the engine prepped in a good solid afternoon, and you're right...probably running in 3-4 weekends.

So, 2000 bucks and not a penny less, and if I don't get that by the end of the month, I'll just finish the thing.

                          :)
