hey there, i know this is a long shot, but did you ever adapt that S54 airbox to your RHD ITB's? i have the same setup on my M20 and just bought an S54 airbox for $50. I'd like to explore this option for the same reasons as you: it looks way better and is so much cheaper.

thanks!

Weird injection issue - ideas ?

Hey guys, just replaced my injectors and the car doesn't want to start now. I checked everything I could think of, checked for short to ground, checked for proper 12V to the injector rail + prongs. Manually primed the fuel rail with the fuel pump relay and there's plenty of fuel, but no injection...

The ground signal is supposed to be pulsed by the ECU to engage the injectors on/off and for now I don't think it sends that signal, or there's a cut wire somewhere. I hooked up my test light to both + and ground on the fuel rail, tried cranking, and the light didn't flash. If I ground my test light to the engine ground, it lights up fine.

I only touched the fuel rail and moved the 2 harness connected to it during the install, so my main suspect are these two plugs. AI suggested I check the continuity between the 3 prong plug (green circle) that connects about 1/3 down the bottom of the fuel rail, and the + and - prongs on the injector connectors. I found none. What is the role of this 3 wire plug (green). Is the signal for the injectors coming only from the harness that enter the forward end of the rail at the front of the engine?

I applied 12.5V to the injectors and got firm "clicks" on all of them, which tells me they're not stuck closed. I also used brake cleaner in the intake and the car starts up and run on it, which proves that everything other than fuel delivery is working fine.

Ideas?

There is a Chinese factory that makes entire bodies for popular classic cars like the AE86.
Apparently, their body parts are less rust-prone compared to original ones.

Will it make parts for German cars too?

Hi,
I came across your posts about the M42 and decided to get in touch because I'm currently working on my own M42 project and I'm a bit stuck.

I recently bought an MS3 ECU for my car and, after a lot of work, I managed to get the engine running. I've also converted it to coil-on-plug ignition and rewired the injectors individually. The engine starts and runs, but I'm still struggling with the tuning side of things.

Since your M42 setup seems very similar to mine, I was wondering if you might be willing to help me. I don't yet have enough experience to properly tune all the fuel and ignition tables, enrichments, corrections, and the many other settings needed to make the engine run as well as it should.

If possible, would you be able to share the tune or configuration file you're using on your M42? I wouldn't simply copy it directly, but it would be incredibly helpful as a reference and learning tool to better understand how a properly sorted M42 setup is configured.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I've learned a lot during this project, but I still have a long way to go when it comes to tuning.

Thank you very much for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

 Best regards.

Unsure if this is already a topic but everyone here needs a parts E30 for their project E30, It's apart of the E30 Ownership and I have already made a checklist of all the parts that my 318i needs, However it goes without saying that it's been difficult to find a parts car these days that doesn't cost 4,000 up here in new england but it's not all doom and gloom, I know people have gotten lucky beforehand and so with this.

Let's talk about your stories:

What have you found recently that you bought and parted out? It can be an E30, W124 Mercedes, 1965 Chevrolet Malibu or any car for that matter, Share your stories of what random crap you found in a parts car or that desirable part that you've been after? I'd like to hear it all! Include pictures of the horrors that your parts car came with if you have them.

Τελευταία, αναρωτιέμαι πώς θα μπορούσα να στοιχηματίζω με περισσότερη ασφάλεια και ανωνυμία online. Με τις τόσες επιλογές που υπάρχουν, είναι δύσκολο να καταλάβεις ποιες πλατφόρμες είναι πραγματικά αξιόπιστες και προσφέρουν προστασία στα προσωπικά δεδομένα. Έχω ακούσει για ξένες στοιχηματικές εταιρίες που διαφημίζουν αυτές τις δυνατότητες, αλλά δεν είμαι σίγουρος αν είναι τόσο απλό όσο ακούγεται. Θέλω να νιώθω σίγουρος όταν κάνω τις συναλλαγές μου και να ξέρω ότι τα στοιχεία μου είναι ασφαλή. Κάποιος που έχει εμπειρία με τέτοιου είδους πλατφόρμες μπορεί να μου δώσει τα φώτα του;

Well, time to finally make a thread for this one. I bought this back on New Year's day 2026. Car is a 1991 318is that has been on and off this forum throughout the years. Car used to go by Roxy so we will keep that name. She's a 318is NON slicktop, meaning hole in the roof so nothing sacred. Car has a history on here, and has even gone through the Guten treatment probably 15 or more years ago, I know the thread is on here somewhere. Bought the car from a friend of an OG on here, who definitely knows more history on the car than I do. It was not cheap but what E30 is anymore. Car is definitely a driver as far as condition, she has many blemishes, but Since I started here in 08 the dream has always been a late model on BBS and MHW lights, this car has pretty much everything I want on it out of the box so no need to do crazy mods, just little quality of life things to make it a better car. I'll update the thread as go but will start with the intro and update what I have done on it up to this point.

These are from the day I brought the car home. E46 M3 is my daily and the other car is the 85 318i that is in the middle of an S50 swap and non running project that will eventually get progress again. Before I bought the car, I was chatting with my friend about how funny it would be if I bought the car because I would have two Diamond Schwarz E30 coupes, one late and one early. That's how I met your mother kids... lol. Oddly I've always wanted a late model and was looking to replace the M3 with something else before I bought this, another E30 is something I wanted but was not on my radar.
