SOLD: Castro Built BAR Legal S52 E30

    Hey guys
I’m selling my s52 e30. Ive tried to outline everything and anything about the vehicle. I’m also trying to be as transparent as possible with the car, as I dont want to waste time. I’m selling because I figured as good as the car is, it’s not what I’ve been looking for in a weekend track toy/cruiser and I have my eyes on something else already.

    1991 BMW 325i
165k miles (the odometer does work!)
    Clean Title
S52 Swap with OBD2 diagnostics kept! (performed by Castro Motorsports)
BAR’d as an OBD1 S50 (by Castro Motorsports)
Vehicle has been smogged and is ready.

    Engine:
    S52 Swap
    M50 Manifold
    Mishimoto Slim Radiator
Castro Motorsports BAR legal Exhaust(CARB legal cats have been removed for track use but are included. Cats have around 1000 miles on them. They were removed after the vehicle passed smog)
    Achilles Oil Pan Baffle
    Welded Oil Pump Nut
    RK tuned
Roughly 230whp(going based off of previous owner’s word. I have no proof of this)

    Chassis/Drivetrain:
    3.25 LSD with 40% lockup
    AKG Shifter
    AKG DSSR
    AKG 75D Trans Mounts
    AKG S52 Motor Mounts
    AKG 75D Diff Bushings
    AKG 75D Rear Subframe Bushings

    Suspension:
    MCS 2-Way Coilovers
    600lbs 6” Hyperco front springs
    700lbs 5” Hyperco rear springs
    Ground Control Camber Plates
    Ground Control Rear Spring Perches
    Bimmerworld Monoball Rear Mounts
    AKG 75D FCABs
    AKG 75D RTABs
    Bimmerworld Eccentric Trailing Arm Adjustments
Custom rear limiting strap mounts (no straps mounted)

    Reinforcements:
    AKG Front Motor Mount Plate
AKG Front Control Arm Mount Plate
    AKG Front Swaybar Mount
    AKG Rear Swaybar Mount
    AKG Rear Swaybar Linkage Mount
    Ireland Engineering Trailing Arm Plates
    Ireland Engineering Diff Mount Plates
    Racing Diffs Secondary Diff Mount

    Wheels/Brakes:
Volk Racing TE37 Sonic SL (ceramic coated with Gtechniq Crystal Serum)
    16x8+24
    225/45 Nankang NS2R
    Corrado 280mm Discs
    Wilwood Calipers
ST43 Pads Front and Rear for track(in a box)
Wilwood BP10 street front pads with Stoptech Sport rear pads(installed)

    Interior:
    Corbeau RRS Seats
    Momo Hub
    Works Bell 20mm spacer
    Italvolanti Imola R Steering Wheel
    CA Tuned Suede Shift Boot
    Kenwood Radio
    Custom Cup Holder
    AC and Heater both work

    Exterior:
Ikon Motorsports IS Rep Front Lip
    Hartge Rear Spolier(not installed, included)
Oem Euro Bosch Smiley headlights w/ morimoto LEDs

    Extras included:
    Hartge Wing
    ST43 pads all around
    Original grills and headlights
    CARB legal cats
Random extra parts that likely aren’t worth much but are e30 related.

    Issues/concerns:
    Driver fender has paint chipping
Front of car has rock chips that have been filled with a touch up pen
Hood and bumper trims has signs of paint fade and scratches
    Paint needs a good detail
It’s a little tough to get into gear when the transmission is cold. This is because of the Redline trans fluid. Usually letting the car idle for a few mins warms up the trans enough to make things work smoothly and properly.
Dash has three cracks. Covered with dash mat
Fuel gauge works but fluctuates and becomes inaccurate as fuel levels change. I usually fill up every 200-250 miles to be safe.
    Driver seat has a tear.
SRS Light on due to the steering wheel.

    SOLD

Technically, that's not legal to pass it as something else. It needs to be Bar'd as a 96 or later S52 with all of the OBD2 emissions equipment installed, or swap an S50 in it.
Plug and Play Wiring Harness Adapters for S54, S50, M54 and more.

Feel free to mention that to BAR. They’re the ones that passed it.

They passed it based on false info. Whoever took it through BAR told them the engine came from a 1995 M3.

And it’s the Tech’s job to look into things and realize the differences between an S50 and S52.

Nearly every BAR’d vehicle I’ve run across has something that doesnt add up. BAR’d hondas are using JDM motors running a bunch of different parts and still passing. BAR’d subarus all run JDM motors that were never even sold in America and have some half assed emissions equipment. BAR’d JZ’s in other vehicles are run modified intake manifolds that would usually fail smog on a factory JZ vehicle.

End of the day, someone out there is happily driving this around without worrying about cops harassing them for a motor swap.
