SOLD: Lapis Blue 1987 325 - Single Owner, Garage Kept

For sale is a 1987 BMW 325, 5-spd manual trans, Lapis Blue in color, full blue leather interior, with roughly 115k original miles on it. Asking 10k OBO. Car has been babied and is extremely clean.

Edit: Located on WV/OH border near Belpre. Car has OH title/registration.

    Overview:
Car was bought brand new back in 1988 by my dad and has been garaged kept its entire life under the cover. He recently downsized so I have had it in my garage for the past year or so. I don’t have the time to do what I want with it, so I would like to get it to someone who does.

This car is completely bone stock and runs great. Over the past year I have “restored” it by doing some small things here and there like replacing a cracked door latch trim piece and detailing it until the cows come home. Other than that it is in great shape. I also have about every document ever that applies to this car.

Inside carpets were shampooed, all panels and pieces were detailed (full interior & exterior). No cracks in the plastic components, INCLUDING the dash! Full factory tool set in truck but missing one wrench ($10 or so to get online). Power windows work great as well.

Original mudflaps that came on the car are in the trunk.
I also have an iS “cowcatcher” air dam that I bought. Most of it is sanded, but it needs prepped and painted before install. The fog lights that were in it were busted so those would need replaced as well if wanted.

    Recent Maintenance:
    • New Odometer Gears; stopped working around 105k and had no more than 10k miles put on it until they were replaced. Since then, maybe 100 miles.
    • New tires in 2016, I’d estimate only a couple thousand miles on them. (Original spare in trunk still)
    • Tune Up performed by BMW specialist in 2017.
    • New Water Pump, Belts & Fuel Pump in 2016.
    • New Battery in 2021.
    • Exhaust replaced in 2017.
    • New Timing Chain around the same time frame. This one cannot be 100% confirmed. It was paid to be done and supposedly performed by a BMW Mechanic in OH, but later my dad discovered he was not the most reputable mechanic. So this may not be new. Current one is fine, but these are supposed to be replaced at 100k.
    • Replaced/repaired sunroof knob in 2021. They bend out of shape over time. If I remember correctly I was able to repair it and works better than new now. (Genuine BMW knobs are crazy expensive)
    Cons:
    • I’ll start with the big one: It’s got a salvage title. It was in an accident which damaged the hood, bumper, and passenger qtr panel back in 2004. Insurance put a salvage title on it. Damage in pics below. Body and paint was completely repaired using BMW parts. I truly cannot tell it was ever in an accident. Nothing mechanical was damaged to my knowledge.
    • Volume knob on radio is “scratchy” and doesn’t work too well. Cuts in and out. I do have a video where I found a sweet spot and the speaker and radio work better than my newer car. Sounds amazing. I looked up some info and seems like it may just need cleaned?
    • A/C doesn’t work. Air blows but not cold. Heat works fine.
    • Small oil leak somewhere. I cannot pinpoint the location. A mechanic said it was around the head gasket somewhere and that he would not replace it as it wasn’t of concern and to just drive it. I think it is at a different location though. I put cardboard under it when parked in the garage and I get maybe a quarter sized drop after each drive?
    • Passenger tail light has a leak. The seal is bad. I have 2 new seals that just need installed and chances are I will get to this before I sell it! This caused some rust in the battery compartment but has since been cleaned up. Needs some more attention though. It did NOT rust through or cause exterior damage.
    • The coolant sensor was/is broke. This causes the roof panel light to come on. Originally, the wires were snapped/frayed and was not providing contact. I verified it is not the coolant level itself by swapping the sensor with the washer fluid one (just plugged it in) and the lights swapped. I bought a new sensor but must be the incorrect one because the light is still on and all the wires seem fine. No issue; but a light is on.
    Here she is:
NOTE: Carpets we’re cleaned AFTER these interior pics!
The front seats are also blue leather like the rear but for some reason I don’t have a pic?? They were taken out for trim detailing.
