    1992 Alpinweiss II 318iA Touring

I acquired the car at the start of the year, having been previously owned by a lady since new. She purchased the car in Hannover, Germany, before relocating to London in 2006 and the car came with her. I understand she travelled throughout Europe in the car and most often was in Chamonix. Despite being spec'd with one of the smaller engines in the range, the car does have some nice features, including heated drivers lock and mirrors, plus factory AC, so no sunroof.

Since owning the car, I have had it serviced (oil and filters), carried out welding on both sills and the rear valance, replaced the under bonnet insulation, the headlining, front brake pads, plus fitted a new bonnet badge, new front indicator lenses, SE leather steering wheel, some H&R springs (6 Cylinder spec, part no 981110181) and the refurbished BBS RZ's, fitted with brand new Toyo TR1's in 205/50/15. Another big bonus, is the dash is in great shape and not showing any signs of cracking.

The car is a great cruiser as is, alternatively would be a prime candidate for an engine conversion.

In terms of the bad bits, I believe the front wings (fenders) are not original and the paint is not to the same standard as the rest of the car. The trim below the grill and next to the passenger wing is pushed in by approximately 5mm. There is a dent on the passenger side rear wheel arch, also on the rear passenger quarter, below the bumper. There are a few other small parking dents down the sides of the car. Rust wise, there is some surface rust on two of the wheel arch inner lips, surface rust on one inner edge of the tailgate and one of the jacking points is starting to show sign of corrosion, however nothing was advised for this on the last MOT inspection from November 2021. Internally, the base of the drivers seat is frayed in a few places, there are two small splits in door of the doorcards. There is also some marking and perforations in the drivers side trim adjacent to the tailgate. There is a small oil leak which has been present for a number of years, I believe this is the rocker gasket. The drivers side repeater has a small crack in the lens and the material either side of the rear ashtray has split.

The odometer is currently showing 146,719KM's.

I have tons more photos, which I can send via wetransfer or watsapp.

    Price $Sold.

The car is currently in the UK and I am happy to arrange shipping, but the cost will need to be covered by the buyer. I have two quotes for the following destinations from Southampton:

Insured Shipping to Hueneme $2,220. Frequency of journey is every 7 days and port to port takes 24 days.
Insured Shipping to New York $1630. Frequency of journey is every 7 days and port to port takes 11 days.

In addition, I have been advised by the shipping company there will be approximately $500 of clearance fees once landed, plus 2.5% import duty on the price of the car. To confirm I have the Registration document in my name, which I will need to post (recorded) the original document to the buyer in order for them to take delivery of the car once landed.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and apologies if I have missed anything.

I'd like to finalize this a bit make sure the word gets out about RSlut (Tom). I bought this car back in august. First car I've ever imported. Tom did all the work aside form choosing a port location, which happened to be city I live in. What a pleasure to work with. He made sure to send me pictures and updates along the way and even asked what air freshener I'd like him to put in the car for transport. The service he chose to ship (Horizon Auto Shipping) was amazing to deal with. No issues, no hang-ups, and easy to talk to. Tom made it crazy easy to get this car which is exactly what he advertised it to be. It's in awesome shape for a 30 year old car. I got what I think was a totally fair deal. The registration process was a breeze with all of the paperwork provided to me. I was in and out of the licensing office in less than 15 minutes.

I'm actually thinking about importing more, this was so easy. I wouldn't hesitate to trust him again with another purchase.
