Yes, I believe it's somewhat common on tourings. The system has a dial in the knee panel below the steering wheel which operates a pump/accumulator setup in the spare tire well. This is fed by and engine bay pump (possibly the power steering pump, I don't specifically recall) and operates on the rear shocks only. Basically, it's a load compensator so that handling, and more importantly for Europe, lighting remains within legal limits.

The easy way to identify a rear SLS car is to look in the engine bay for a larger metal reservoir outboard of the intake manifold, where the plastic power steering pump usually goes.

This car does not have a dial. The only ones that had a dial are the ones that do not have the SLS. The dial in those cars are to control the headlight aiming. This is so the driver can lower the headlights when the car is loaded. This car adjusts the suspension itself and does not need a dial in the cockpit.

This if from the factory. I have not seen it on another Touring. I don't think its that common.

Yeah, I think you are right on the purpose of the dial, it's been a while since I had my 320i with SLS. But looking back at pics that car most certainly had SLS and adjustable headlights, although the latter didn't work IIRC.

In any case, yours looks fairly priced and should make someone quite happy!

Yes. The car has a manual 5 speed and factory A/C. And the A/C works!
