Midwest: WTB: Sub-$1k BMW 5spd

I'm looking for something that runs fairly reliably. Cosmetics can be imperfect, but mechanics must be sound enough for lots of highway mileage. 5spd only.

I'm constantly on the look for something similar, but in this price range, it might be tough going. I like to use Search Tempest (it searches Craigslist). You can specify price ranges and distance for your search. I just looked and a 318is popped up in NE for $1800. No photos, but I've had a couple of them and they are a blast to drive.
