    Feeler:(RI) 1985 BMW 318i Coupe - 121k - Red - $700

UPDATE: THIS CAR HAS MAJOR RUST ON ONE OF THE FRAME RAILS -It would make for an OK lemons race-car, but I cannot sell it whole if someone intends on using it for street. It would me morally irresponsible. It will likely be parted out.

Just testing waters on this early model coupe. It's got a shimmy when traveling between 60-65mph, I haven't had time to isolate it yet. It's got a clean vehicle history which I can provide you. Or if you want to look it up yourself the VIN is :WBAAK7400F8767727

It's got a hair over 121,000 miles, has a cracked dash, has a tired interior. The radio wasn't installed very well by previous owner, I know for fact that the front left strut is blown.

It's body is in decent shape, the only problem area is the passenger side rear wheel arch by the rocker is dented with signs of a bit of rust.

I haven't been able to check the underside of the car yet for full details but it's got it's 25 years of wear and tear. Engine runs strong, but has a gasket leak somewhere. It has a new battery and exhaust is fairly new, non rusted.

Reason for sale? I bought this car in a pinch as we needed a more reliable car since my girlfriends swapped impreza was out of commission for a while. I'm exploring other e30 options right now.

just throwing it out there before it's on craigslist

Asking price $650 (not 700 as seen above; thats what i'd post it on CL)

    PRO:
New windshield replaced (by p.o. insurance due to a crack)
    Newer exhaust (not rusting out)
Tires have lots of meat (will measure when it's not raining out)
    ? ES front valance
    Cruise Control works
Overall body is in pretty decent shape (imho) but may benefit from fixing the trouble spot/respray
    Brand new battery

    Cons:
    Seats worn
    Dash cracked
Passenger side inner door handle doesn't work too well
Has a dent on lower rear right above rocker w/ spots of rust
Clear coat/Paint is a bit faded (usual symptoms of 25 yr old red paint)
Windshield washer pump not working (have replacement)
Power Steering unhooked (have replacement belt)
Radio is wired messily by previous owner (might fix this for my own sanity)
Rear diff has a leak on one of it's axle seals

    Observations
    Crank sunroof
No OBC but has a digital clock in its place
Was not equipped w/ diagnostic panel by sunroof crank

Things that need to be done (which I can do that might affect asking price)
    Brakes
    Front wheel bearing
    New front struts

Sorry for delay folks, I'll try to take some pics maybe Thursday or Friday (full academic schedule makes for bad picture times).

            Stay tuned...

also, i isolated the shimmy; it needs a new wheel bearing up front. I can take care of it, but it will also increase (slightly) the asking price to help offset cost of parts.

I am going to update the initial post with more Pro/Cons shortly...i'm not sugar coating anything because it would only waste everyones time

                          Good news and bad news....

GOOD: the car is no longer tentatively sold locally....

BAD: The car has some major rust on the passenger side frame rail behind the CAB

It will likely be parted out in the next two weeks or so. Unless you want to purchase it whole for a lemons race.....stay tuned for a partout thread.

I'll have pictures up this weekend, I promise. Sorry to waste your time folks.

See now, how hard is that? Last car I bought he knew and totally didn't think twice about saying the car was "rust free".

Congrats, you're not a douche waffle. Best of luck with the part out.
