It's for those of you who value clean and unique more than anything else. Is it a real ///M? Were any e36's in the USA real ///M's with M, not S based engines?
If the grandfather takes care of his cars anything like NC325iC does his e30 iC or his schwartz hardtop, then it should be something nice. Is it worth the asking price...That's for the buyer to decide.

I think you should learn how to speak English, then make a new screen name. It's for those of you who value clean and unique more than anything else. Is it a real ///M? Were any e36's in the USA real ///M's with M, not S based engines?

basically what he said was e36 m3s in the us have bored out m50s not true s50 engines.
any my grandfather puts me to shame with the care he puts into his cars. He has a 97 F150 that you could eat off of. This car is perfection.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Be that as it may, the car is still for sale, and i did not make any attempt to decieve anyone about what the car is.
thank you for bumping this thread, even though the sole purpose of your bump was to just detract from my FS thread.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

I am surprised at the amount of butt-hurt that this car is apparently causing you ladies.
what PHYSICALLY makes this car NOT an M3, other than the convertible-ness, and maybe lack of the subframe cross-bracing? No, and don't say "well the VIN says....", I want ACTUAL TANGIBLE reasons this is different than an M3, in ways that can be measured. (other than the two mentioned)
It's a little different with an E30. To convert a 325is to an M3, you would have to do a heck of alot of cutting, welding, and fabbing, considering the only common body parts on an E30 M3 is the hood and sunroof. On an E36, different story. The E36 M3 is a dumbed down M3, a consumer's M3, a user-friendly M3, therefore, the E36 base and the M3 aren't all that different, making a conversion easier. When the chassis is made in the factory (back in the '90s) were the M3 and base model chassis any different initially? some chassis just got M3 stuff, some didn't. I find it incredibly pedantic to care so much about what a VIN says.
That is all.Comment

Especially on an E36 too, like it's a matching vins vintage Ferrari or something...I am surprised at the amount of butt-hurt that this car is apparently causing you ladies.
