I will drive it home when it turns 25. Until then it will be waiting for me on the other side of the border.
Show and display wont work for a car like that. They are pretty strict about that. It would have to be a VERY unique car (for example less than 200 made total) which it of course is not.Comment

d'oh, reading comprehension > me (missed that last part about first registering it in canada). lucky seattleans with your proximity to the northern border!I will drive it home when it turns 25. Until then it will be waiting for me on the other side of the border.

Seriously considered it. It's actually exactly what I want, although way too flashy for me. I would repaint and go back to factory stock E30 M3 wheels. If I didn't currently own the E63, I would be the high bidder.Comment

Very nice. The cars are so cheap in Europe and importation is relatively inexpensive, so that's probably the best route. I bet waiting for January will be tough!Comment

No problem... I just have to make sure the wife is not watching while I type this :p
BTW, the car was silver when I bought it and I had it painted Burgundrot in Poland at a BMW dealer where a cousin of mine works. I decided to paint it because the car wasn't in as good shape as the seller claimed and fixing it in Poland cost much less than it would have in Seattle. They did a really great job. The price below includes two used front fenders and a rear hatch plus straightening a bumper shock channel and some rust chasing.
Finding a perfect car in Europe is much harder than in the USA it turns out. Most of them were plain and simple rust buckets and those that were restored were usually racer boy toys with very tacky modifications. Also dealing with people by phone is not the easiest thing. Fortunately I had an army of friends and family who were ready to help me through the whole process.
So here it comes.
Car: $2650
Paint job and parts: $2200
New set of leather seats: $300
Registration, tax and insurance in Poland: $400
Shipping (including customs fees and handling at departure port) : $3100
Arrival Port Handling: ~$500 (I didn't pay that yet but that's what I expect the fee to be)
So total: $5150 for the car and $4000 for shipping and various administrative fees.Comment
