    '74 BMW 2002 M20 Project Car $4,000

Well I did not think I would have to do this but I do. I have to sell my dream project car. I have decided to go back to school and will be moving up to Washington state. My 2002 needs a new home.

This add will be a bit long but I want anyone who is truly interested in this to know whats up. REED the whole thing if you are actually interested!!!!

I am asking $4,000 for the car. I think that is very fair and even if the car is not running or finished there are easily $4,000 worth of parts on this car. I am just trying to pay my credit card off before I go to school before the end of the summer. I am located in San Rafael CA.

Some of you guys might know of my project. I have been working on stuffing an m20 into my '74 2002 for a while now and just recently spent a month and a half installing the engine to get her on the road. Sadly I ran out of money and got kicked out of my work space before she could be finished.

I had the engine running before I towed her back to my place in San Rafael, but the fuel pump died on me and she does not currently start. You will need a trailer or tow truck. I will list things the car needs to be a drivable below.

I spent months putting the m20 together and collecting parts and have spent close to $6,000-8,000 on this project. I only have receipts for $5,000 of my expenditures.

This car does not have a very nice body right now, but it is not gone past the point of no return. The drivers side front fender is nasty, and my friend cut into the rear apron with a saws all while he was trying to remove the spair wheel well.
If you dont feel like doing the body work, you will have everything you need to put an m20 in a 2002 plus some other tid bits. With some work I think this car would make a great track rat.

    So here goes.

Things the car needs to be drivable:
-Registration (non op reg right now)
-Custom shortened and welded 2002 drive shaft (about $150 at a shop)
    -Finish wiring (lights, horn, accessories)
-New/used 318i in tank fuel pump
    -Bleed brakes and clutch
-Close hole around steering shaft in the fire wall to finish rack conversion, or get a front sub frame and convert back to steering box (I still have the steering box)

Neither did I. If it does not sell I will just have to find money for school some where ells, and stick it in a storage unit somewhere until I am done with school.
It hurts to sell this car because I had so many dreams involving me driving it, but I would rather see it put to good use then just rotting away in storage some where.

Sad to see it come to this. This is fairly priced and a good option for someone headed down the M20/2002 road.

Good luck in your future plans D !

Its not that I am giving up. Ill be back with a new car in the future. I learned SOOOOOOOOOOOO much building this car to the point it is at now. Next time it will be bigger and better. I am still young enough to go to school and take some risks and I need to take this opportunity. Sadly keeping the car will just not work out.
I hope it will pass on to some one who cares.

Sad to see this man. I was hoping to drive around in our M20-02's when I moved out to the bay area this fall.

Good luck with school and everything, you can't go wrong when you invest in your future.

Oh no! :( Hopefully you can carry on this dream at a later date :\

Good luck with the sale, though!

On a side note, how do you like that NRG steering wheel?

NRG wheel is good for its price, but a bit flexy.

So far I do not have very many offers at all. One from a Frenchy who doesnt seam to care to much and one from my friends at Cal tuned. I am going up to see them tomorrow.

On a side note. Any ideas on car storage? I checked out storage units but it will be about $1,600 for a year of storage and there is no way I can afford that right now.
