1985 European 320 sedan with NV M50 conversion, Karminrot with custom black and gray plaid interior.
Exterior is 9/10 and interior is 9/10
$8000.
This is a true European model, not a re-bumpered US model.
Lightweight – no power windows or sunroof
The good….
ENGINE
92 NV M50 from a convertible
Compression 205psi on all 6 cyls +/- 8 psi
Newer radiator and starter
No cat converters, resonators instead
Ansa muffler
TRANSMISSION
97 Z3 5-spd with Redline MTL
DIFFERENTIAL
2.93 high lock LSD with Redline 75w90
BRAKES
325 disks all around (Euro 320’s came with rear drums stock)
SUSPENSION
E30 M3 alum control arms
Billy sport shocks
H&R springs
Eibach polished front strut bar
Aftermarket thick sway bars with urethane bushings and adjustable end links.
Manual steering rack.
WHEELS
15X7 BBS-RZ refurbished and painted silver excellent condition, no curb rash. Tires are Dunlop Direzza sport 205/50 with 5k miles on them, plenty of tread left.
EXTERIOR
Repaint in original Karminrot euro only color. Was done several years ago, likely soon after it was federalized because the federalized sidemarkers are gone.
No dents or door dings or signs of a wreck
M-Tech 1 front airdam and rear valance
BMPD side skirts
Tow ring extenders front and rear
Bosche Euro Smileys with city lights.
Manual operated Antenna which is awesome because I don't have to have it sticking 4 feet in the air just to listen to music while I drive.
INTERIOR
High quality plaid fabric, the same used in VW GTI mk6 with vinyl bolsters and double stitching. Seat kit was made by Kevin Chin with Creative Options. I installed it about 2 years ago. The original front M3 sport seat covers were removed and the side lifting handles were ground off to create a true front seat for a 4-door. Kevin's kit includes the door cards that are glued over the original door cards and the shift boot. There are a couple cut marks on the original door card vinyl near the edges driver side.
The dash was replaced with a non-cracked dash with no scuff marks, like new condition.
Gauges were replaced with Euro KPH gauges, Garagistic gears replaced the worn odometer gears.
Stereo is a simple Kenwood BT652U with 4 Kicker speakers all pretty new. Nothing fancy, but sounds good. The stereo is Bluetooth so you can talk hands free, play your Iphone Pandora or Nav and the sound comes out of the speakers.
Center console cup holders were added.
Analog clock was added.
The bad....
Mileage is unknown for the car and the engine. The odometer was not working when I bought it, then I replaced it anyway with one with lesser miles.
Because of the low ground clearance I bottomed out the car on a driveway and got stuck. When backing out, a piece of sheet metal under the driver side floor board got torn. It is the one area that has rust, about a 4"x10" area. I haven't replaced it because it doesn't effect my driving or anything visually. I was quoted $400 by a body shop to fix.
One of the previous owners had the brilliant idea of cutting out the panel between the rear seat and trunk to install a subwoofer. Again, it is out of site and does not effect my daily driving so I never had it fixed. Was quoted about $400 to weld a new panel in place.
Because this is a euro import, North Carolina didn't recognize the original euro VIN, so they made me get a NC VIN. So the car's original VIN is WBAAD310101552289 and the NC VIN is NC90648. Neither will pop up on Carfax.
Rear defrost switch doesn't work.
There are 2 scratches that are deeper than the clear coat. One on the trunk is 5" long the other on the passenger side rear door goes the width of the door. They are not that noticeable unless right up on the car.
My price reflects these issues. If I end up having the work done, I will increase the price.
I'm selling the car because I have two growing kids and need a more normal daily driver, and I just want a change.
