Up for sale is my 1991 318is, $3500 OBO it's a Canadian model and thus didn't have the airbag requirement that the US models did letting it have the 3 spoke wheel still. Gauge cluster is also in kilometers and liters. That being said the odometer is broken at 100k. The title suggests it broke about 6 months before I bought it in October of 2011. I've probably put about 10k miles ( about 16k kilometers) on it in those 2 years so the car probably has around 120k kilometers or around 78k miles.
The body and paint are pretty rough, but the interior is beautiful and the car is mechanically sound aside from an occasional idle problem at start once every 15 start ups or so. This doesn't affect the driving at all as it goes away in 30 seconds. That's all thats bad about this car, other than that its been reliable and fun! However I am moving to Oklahoma in September for pilot training and wont be taking it with me so its time to sell, heres a quick list of points on the car:
Negatives:
ODO broken at 106k kilometers for about 2 years
Occasional idle stutter on startup, fixes itself in 20-30 seconds
Body has some dings and dents and the paint is pretty rough
Positives:
Beautiful and uncommon interior
Heated seats
Canadian model with no airbags
5 speed manual
Premium sound with deck with aux input
Euro smilies
Euro Grilles
Hartge front bumper
IS rear trunk lip
Chalk board paint on hood roof and trunk
Spare tire is good to go, also has stock jack
Maintenance:
COP kit for the m42
New belts and pulleys
New water pump and thermostat in November
Clutch is 2 years old and feels great
New suspension:
4 months ago: H&R sport springs, New Shocks, New rear shock mounts, New sway bar bushings to go with 21mm front sway bar
2 weeks ago: New full control arms with new bushings, inner and outer tie rods, sway bar links, alignment
Last oil change was two weeks ago, been running mobil 1 full synthetic since Ive had the car,
I think thats about it, but Ill add anything I remember. Car doesn't leak any fluids and has been very good to me overall! Price is $3500 OBO, pics are below:
