I took a 97 z3 2.8 that needed engine work, pulled the aluminum block m52, and dropped in a beautiful s52 from a pristine 97 m3 coupe that was t-boned by drunk driver. Dave at markert motorworks flashed the dme to delete the ews and all the smog stuff and other obd2 hurdles, so that the dme will be happy to run the engine obd2 in any chassis, with the proper harness mods.

Cold AC, everything works, All new seals, belts, hoses, consumables under the hood, new clutch ltw flywheel, master, slave cylinders, etc. New radiator, expansion tank, lots more. throws a code for the 02 sensor heater. no other codes.
Adult owned, maybe driven 50 miles since I put it all together. I'm working 7 days a week, 10 hrs. a day, no time to drive it. Looking for local buyer.
Body great, paint faded on trunklid. Driver seat torn on outer bolster. Bad rear subframe bushing, can be heard clunking only with top up under hard acceleration. heated seats, power locks, factory remote alarm, etc.
Everything works except oem radio. Top excellent, bmw car cover. Far more a driver than a looker. zf 5 speed manual.
