I didn't see it in person but he showed me pics of it. I believe it had white style 5's but could be wrong, and wheels are easy enough to change out so

Here I go again…
30k is not so bad if it is what it says it is. This shouldn't be compared to a "real" (hard top) e30 m3 because it is a convertible. Why not compare it to a "real" convertible e30 m3? If you do that, it's all kindsa cheap.

Depends on how you look at it. The value of the M3 convertible is in the rarity and it's very limited production. You see it as an M3 clone but I see it as a 325iC with M3 panels because that's what it actually is. Clones can be built all day long with a $500 325iC and M3 parts. So producing an M3 vert replica out of a 325iC and then tapping into the values of real M3 verts is wrong on both fronts IMO. I guess I'm just tired of always having to use the word "real" these days. It really shouldn't be like that. Either it is...or it isn't.Last edited by reelizmpro; 08-16-2015, 09:53 AM."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

I agree, but real m3 verts are so much higher than $30k. With this car, you have (what appears to be) an m3 vert, at a fraction of the cost. Also, how much would one spend getting a $500 vert into this condition? Up to $30k or more I'd suspect.Depends on how you look at it. Someone could spend that...sure. If I were selling a car I would certainly say that (I mean how else am I going to get $30k for it?) but if I were building one for myself, it would be much, much less with new parts and welded quarters. The only thing that isn't bolt on are the rear quarters and I believe the ones on this car are fiberglass that has been bonded over the top. Remember, I almost bought this car when it was advertised for $10k. So you have to wonder what it actually cost them to build it.
You have to look beyond the fresh paint.
Just noticed it on ebay... 11 documented owners and an Autocheck of 2 but no reported accidents or salvage/junk title? Interesting.Last edited by reelizmpro; 08-16-2015, 10:53 AM."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

I haven't looked at it very well at all. I just feel compelled to defend rising e30 prices.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"Comment
