In 2013 it had 123k then in 2015 it had 284k. The OP states the car has 180K though? Was the cluster swapped? The s14.net seller (THM3) who sold it in 2008 stated the car had a clean title also. Did no one bother to check or was the title washed?

<sigh>
This one would take a detailed professional inspection and a lower price point for me to give it any more thought.

I think,,, and I'm certainly biased,,, I look at that thing as a roller.
Needs so so much its really just a rolling chassis without an engine.
Poor thing has really lived a fucked life.
It will take a monumental effort to un-fuck it.Jimmy P.

to shed some light on this post, i see some people asking about how its still clean title and what not.
well my family has owned plenty of body shops and what not, and have dealt with buying cars from salvage auctions etc etc. theres actually numerous states where a rebuilt car that passes inspection can come back as clean title. theres also other ways, such as putting a lien on the car ( yes thats odd i know, but my uncle has done it a couple of times on customers cars that were left abandoned, and then came back clean title from california's dmv ). now, regardless of the matter, it should always be disclosed and always was anytime my uncle sold anything to any buyer.
im glad you guys were able to figure it out before someone spent the time and effort to buy it, because hell, i was even interested at the 24k mark. the milage couldve definitely been some discrepancy with a swapped cluster which generally isnt a big deal with e30's as we all know the odo sucks on these cars, but idk, so much sketchy-ness in the ad at this point that i really dont think its ever going to sell... atleast to anyone from r3v. At this point, the car in terms of resale value in my experience is only worth parts. That way someone can use it as a donor to rebuild something far better. I wouldn't pay more than 10k for it to simply turn it into a track beast. Just mh02.Last edited by StealthMODE; 09-26-2017, 09:39 PM.Comment

to all, im apologize for the misinformation. when i bought the car, i wanted it so much that i didnt thoroughly check up on the details, thinking that i would never sell the car. i personally bought the car for 22k on a loan, which totaled about 25k[call me a dumbass, i acknowledge]. as for the title, the pink slip states it as a clean title even though the carfax says otherwise. i just went by the pink slip. i dont know how the title changed, and i had nothing to do with it. for the cluster, it was not changed, it malfunctioned, jumping from 180k to 280k.Last edited by TiMPower; 09-27-2017, 12:33 AM.Comment

At this point, if I were you I'd just keep the car. You're going to get nothing but low offers based on the history that's come to light, and based on what you paid I think you should just enjoy it. Granted it's not perfect but with new wheels & interior it'd be one heck of a stunner.
That said, I'd hit it for $10k ;)Comment

I'm sorry this happened to you. Hopefully you can work it out.

Carfax is dated September 1st and you (seller) chimed in on the September 25th bumping the thread knowing the real history without editing anything.
Consider keeping the car as trying to sell a previously salvage car two years after you brought it, is a recipe for disaster especially with all the weird stories behind the purchase.
Still a nice car.
Take it to a frame shop and make sure the car is straight. The more you now know about the car, the better the transparency for the next owner.
If the frame is shot or was butchered by the PO, I would use it as a donor car and make a tribute. Plenty of nice oem parts left on the car worth saving.
Good luck.Last edited by Javier h; 09-27-2017, 10:25 AM.Comment
