no. automatic convertables came with a 3.38 lsd. i dunno where hes gettin 4.11. 4.10 was in the e30 m3. also. yes with some money u can make a 328 outperform an m3. say 6000 dollars. (how much my freind spent on his 328) s52 cams, obd1 manifold, intake/shark injector, 3.38 lsd, sachs sport suspension, uuc swaybars/ uuc short shift kit, uuc strut tower brace, -xbrace, and lastly a stromung exhuast. 217 rwhp. 201 rwtq. STILL, in my opinion, buy the m3, he got the 328 for 7000, spend 6 on it. u can find a used, higher milege m3 for that easy. better engine, better car all around.

I am just trying to figure out what he is talking about. These is no such diff for the E36 and I doubt he is using the 4.10 from a E30. And if it was a auto it would be 3.91. The 3.91 would be somewhere around 4k RPM going75mpg and a very short first gear but also very fun for around town.

Either way does he really know what diff is in there?

                  Auto M3's come with a 3.38
                  95 manuals have a 3.15
                  96-99 have a 3.23

Any e36 6cylinder transmission with a 4.10 or higher would really suck.

He does have a rare drivers seat found in the lightweight m3's

That is a lightweight m3 seat, and I do have the original as well but it is not as nice to sit in. With the ratio I am not sure what the f it is. It did come out of an automatic m3.

the funny thing is that a 4.10 gear ratio doesn't exist for a e36. the only diff ratio's to exist for a e36 besides what you posted were as follows.

                            E36 318i/is/ti auto: 4.44
                            E36 318i/is/ti man: 3.46
e36 318's use a smaller case diff than that of the 6cyl counterparts so unless he swapped to a full 318 rear suspension then he couldn't be using a 4.44.
                            E36 325i/is auto: 3.91
                            E36 325i/is man: 3.15
                            E36 328i/is man: 2.93
                            E36 328i/is auto: 3.23 IIRC

So unless the rear diff is custom built for this car there is no way that it has a 4.10 rear diff.

                            Tom

edit: since the diff came out of a auto m3 its a 3.38 which is great for a NA car IMHO.

Leo is a straight up honest dude. If he says the car hauls, then the car hauls.
