If I could smog this car in CA I would buy it today. I can't imagine how fun it must be to drive. :D

No, the 4.4 power plant outputs around 282bhp, that's the same engine in the X5. The older 4.0 is in the 250 range, probably not more, not stock at least.

As is, I love the swap, love the cleanliness, and I wish you good luck with the sale, and even more good luck in your business. :)

no the hp was always 282hp *us spec* until the last fewe years when it was raised to 290hp b/c vanos was added..the torque though seemed like it was increased every couple years til it was finally at 324ft lbs.. i think the 4.0 has 295ish stock and w a different exhaust system he's probably netted a few more ponies from that beast...good luck w the sale. i wanted to go the m62 route but my cash flow has left me w doing a m30 swap :)

just throw like 6 cats on it and call it a day!

in all seriousness, a couple high flow cats wouldnt do the trick?

Yeah, for states that just do a sniff test, all you would need is a cat to pass emissions.

This car is too cool to continue sitting in the garage with the battery disconnected...

If the real estate market picks up soon (I'm a designer) that may become an option. But the market crashed hard in Idaho. I have not had a paycheck in four months. I just finished a (small) project though - woohoo!

is this car reliable? would i be able to drive it back to BC if i came to pick it up? I likely need a new car due to an accident caused by some dumb b*tch...

You would have a hard time finding any 1991 BMW that is more reliable. It already has a flawless 2000 mile road trip under its belt.
