    FS: 1988 325i 5-Speed Cabrio

    SOLD

    R3v,

    I am helping a buddy sell a 1988 325i 5-Speed Cabrio E30.

    Specs:
    VIN: WBABB1307J8273166
    1988 325i Convertible
    Cirrusblau Metallic
Bare interior with aftermarket panels and Braum Elite-X Series seats
248,000 miles on the odo, though this is not accurate
    Painted basketweave rims
No AC, no power steering, no power brakes
    Lots of upgrades (see below)
    Clean, notarized AZ title
No chassis rust. The car has been an Arizona and California car for its entire existence. I have a VINSmart title report that I can email to any interested buyer.

As you can see in the pictures below, the car has been modified over time and has exterior attributes that show its age and wear and tear. The parts of the car that are remaining all function as they should.

    Description prepared by the owner:
I wanted an e30 driver that my wife, dogs and I could enjoy. I bought a rust free cabrio in Vegas three years ago. Checked the compression and found it adequate and even on all cylinders – it also didn't smoke on startup. Most all of the rubber and foam parts were shot – this is to be expected on a 32-year-old car that spent its life in the desert (no rust). I put it up on jack stands for an entire year and went through the car replacing everything listed below.

He also fixed the dash, found some new, fully adjustable, maroon Braum Elite-X Series Racing seats on Craigslist, took out the back seat and replaced with rubber mat for the dogs, cleaned up the exhaust, made a removable rear window for the back of the soft top, fabricated an air dam/splitter, mounted some lights on the front end, and have driven it for the last two years as his daily - including through hot summers, wet monsoons, and cold and snowy winters. No AC, no power steering, no power brakes, no problems. Everything works as expected. Super tight and fun to drive.

He has another car project and am out of room.
He has over $5,000 spent on the E30.

Differential LSD clutch discs are worn and bind a bit in tight corners - ring and pinion are in great shape.
Also comes with another functioning 5 speed gear box, oil pan, four additional basket weave rims, and some various other parts.

Price is definitely open and negotiable, as the car is very aged look-wise, but is a very solid driver.

GLWS...but im here investigating more into the LSD clutch plates binding. what does this sound like? can this not be fixed with friction modifier? i thought that the discs would wear and not bind at all, functioning like an open diff? someone correct me please.
