Used Saris roof mounted bike rack that attaches to roof molding/ rain rails/guards. Still in good working condition. Have used it for years on my BMW E30 318is, may fit other vehicles with roof rails/ rain guards. Purchased 2 Thule removable adapters for the rack due to changed mountain bike axle spacing ($45 each). The tracks have been hammered/ bent to widen to fit modern mountain bike tire sizes.
One lock works, had a locksmith re-make keys.
I’ve driven many miles with bikes on the roof of the bmw, never had a problem with the rack moving or becoming loose.
