VDO Gauges are out of a '90 Audi Quattro. I have a set of brand new senders. I bought an E30 gauge panel but didn't like the plastic look. So I hot-glued on some black leather trim. It isn't perfect (leather came out a little lumpy), but it looks much nicer than plastic and any flaws won't be noticed against black interior.
To make the kit complete, you just need a wiring, and a little bit of hardware. You need a "T" off the OEM idiot light sensor, and a reducer, since the Audi senders use a different thread gauge than BMW. The parts can be purchased from any automotive shop, or even home depot. I can help source the parts.
