I know what you are saying, but its not so much that people want 'something for nothing'...these are tough times and its a buyer's market.
Your forgetting that alot of people don't even have jobs and what jobs there are available suck. I'm better off than alot of people I know, and I am still finding it very difficult to afford this M50 swap and all the 'while I'm in there' etc. Most people don't have a tree in their yard that shits money...

I get a little tired of the lowballing whiners out there too. Part prices have dropped quite a bit in the last year as there are some pretty desparate sellers unloading stuff and that drives the prices down for everyone. I figure it is ok with everday stuff, but good quality specialized swap stuff and rare parts are always going to bring a premium, so unless you're desparate don't sell that motor for $500. Tell the thread crappers to go take a dump somewhere else!

Would all you fools who have a nearly complete and running m5x swap with 5 speed for the spare change in the bottom of your pocket please PM me, I'm happy to pay $450 for everything, as far as OPs engine, 1000-1200 seems minimum fair based on my experiences, really guys, $300 is a pick-n-pull engine and you gotta spend a couple hours getting it out, then hope it runs, if you want an M50 talk to the guy and make an offer, see what he says, otherwise STFU
