I have a Ireland engineering oil cooler adapter cap or the M50, m52, s50, and s52 motors. It has never been used. I bought it here a few months back, but I just don't have the time to install a oil cooler setup and my oil temps are running in the 160 to 170s anyways. "New design with larger ports! Our oil cooler adapter for the E36 6 cylinder models allows you to install an oil cooler without modifying or replacing the oil filter housing The adapter replaces the oil filter cap, and directs the filtered oil out to a cooler. Oil returning from the cooler is directed back into the engine in the normal manner. Oil ports are 1/2" pipe thread, and there are 2 additional 1/4npt ports which can be used for temp or to feed oil to a turbo or supercharger.
Notes: These adapters only fit oil filter housings with bolt-on top. To use this adapter, you MUST use a standard E46 BMW oil filter (Mahle 'OX154/1D') - no other filter will work. And yes - we do include the correct oil filter with the adapter."
