I'm taking offers on an an eta motor with approximately 140k on it. I also have the wiring harness, ECU.. everything you see in the pics. Motor ran before it was pulled. Its just missing cap/rotor and spark plugs. Located in the Seattle/Tacoma area.
Im basically just a shadow safe to say on this board as i dont really ever post that much after i got rid of my last BMW wich was quite awhile ago wich explains why i dont post.
Ok sorry back on the topic and being done with the introduction speech haha
I can vouch for the quality and health of the engine as i use to be the owner of the engine and i actually was the one who bought about almost gosh 3 years ago probably at that time i didnt know anything at all about cars let alone a frikin BMW but anyways i went through a shop in town near me and the owner went out and picked up engine from his very and most likly highly reputable source of parts that are used and is picky sometimes as to what he is buying and he picked up a very good motor and even though i got ripped of 900$ wich i found out was way to high of a price and i could have done something alot more benefical for my when it comes down to horsepower numbers but i learned from that.
Ok sorry im in keyboard happy kinda mood i apolize. :-/
The sum of this sappy boring story is
Engine has low miles under like way under 160k im almost sure about it if i remeber correctly and i think ben threw down a good number for the miles and probably is close if not accurate to the roundabouts of the actualy mileage i forgot myself how much it had when i bought it, sorry
Pulls very strong and will admit that i have done it and the engine does happy and if it could would smile with happeness to redline each and every time (3-4 times at most, when i was like in a cram in traffic or had to get around someone of sorts) never ever gave me a problem at all when i was using the engine using the body of the car i drove and now that has even parted hands with Ben.
Was matched up with a 2.93 LSD rear end until that went bad and was then upgraded to 3.73 LSD out of 325iS and engine ran and operated just the same and not a slight noise of a problem. If i didnt know any better like know any better and didnt have a knowledge and some education about cars i would have sworn and probably thought the engine was new like a recent rubuild with low miles.
Later down the road after i parted ways with the car the engine was removed from wich was a 325eS i got myself another Eta wich really made me realize how strong of running and even powerful of an Eta motor my last car had in it was since i kid not the second Eta wich was even the same year as my last car with the just about the same mileage on them maybe like a few ticks apart if that and still the i swore my second 86 was a grandmother compared to the same car and same options just they had a pair of extra doors and yet they felt so different power wise even after i replaced the clutch and fixed my transmission in my second Eta that i had.
So moral of this long story is that when you buy this motor for your beater Eta that you just want to get running for as cheap as possible or again or just looking to fix a nice clean good daily driver Eta to get running for cheap then dont hesitate to email Ben about the motor because trust me the motor is very strong and is not lazy or lathargic haha.
The motor just has alot of life and energy and wants to be brought back to life again.
haha sorry for the nonsense blabber. Its almost 5 am and i have been awake since like 6 ish then went to bed again at 7 am soo till like noon and yea like i said its 5 am and well heh im more awake and in a typing/talkative mood right now. Im bored and cant sleep :-/
Take Care and sorry again for any useless information in this post but i promise you though that i am being very serious about the engine and that is very strong for a motor from the 80's and potentially and hopefully having a 3rd and or possibly 4th owner and car to call home. Some might see this as a possible bonus i guess and that is that Ben is very very honest, hard working and trustworthy young man like most of us but unlike some of the unfortunate people that are not in the PNW area dotn know who is but dont fear because you are dealing with one of the best people to do business transaction with and will most likly knowing him for a little while will do his best to make his customers happy and make the best and most smooth transaction he can. SO remeber your dealing with an A+ Top notch kinda guy so you know you wont get ripped off or get crappy merchandise he is also a well known man in the community it seems lol
Wow this is a long post. i could go on all frikin night but i better stop while i think ican huh yea i should SORRY!
[QUOTE=h0lmes]Is this an upgrade for my 325is?[\QUOTE]
No. This is the eta motor. Single valve springs and low redline.
