All of that looks very much like a post and not the phone call that I requested. Hmmm...
Eric, now that I re-read our correspondence, I do remember your situation. And I remember that not only did we dig through every page of our incoming shipping log (every package in gets recorded exactly for situations like this), and I had all of my warehouse guys ripping the warehouse apart looking for your package, nothing was to be found. We never received it.
I mean seriously ripping the place apart... I had three guys spend most of a day looking in every nook and cranny.
USPS certainly does lose packages. The reason that our Canadian customers now have to deal with UPS brokerage charges is because I can't trust USPS to get packages there reliably, and can't keep replacing the lost ones at my expense. There's a reason USPS has an entire department dedicated to finding lost packages!
USPS really gives you no tracking from overseas because you're military? That's odd, I'd never heard of that.
Again, call me. I much more inclined to help someone at an extended level who approaches me in a direct personal manner rather than, intentionally or not, posts a whole bunch of stuff like this that puts me in an undeserved bad light. That's common sense, right? ;-)
Getting back product that shows extensive damage like that lets us figure out what's going on, why it happened, and if necessary build a better product... it's important. It's also important because, if there's a subcomponent failure due to hardware, it lets me go to my hardware vendor with a justified claim for damage to my product and my customer goodwill.
"Not fer nuthin'"... not to impugn the reputation of experienced technicians, but nobody should ever assume their tech made no mistakes during installation. Car owners need to understand this. I have friends who are BMW Master Technicians - and they screw up. There is no "perfect" technician, and by overlooking the possibility of an installation mistake, all you are doing is crippling your diagnosis.
One last thing - it's also inappropriate to think that email is perfect. Nobody gets 100% of email, 100% of the time, for a variety of technical reasons. You can count on one thing... if I don't reply to an email, I did not get the email. Smart thing is to re-send it.
Enough, this horse is beaten to death. Eric, I hope to hear from you tomorrow.Last edited by Rob@UUC; 03-13-2012, 04:21 PM.- Rob Levinson * UUC Motorwerks * 678-679-5360 * http://www.uucmotorwerks.com * rob@shortshifter.com
Phone calls preferred. Email second. No PMs, that's why I have real email.
