    Custom wooden roof rack feeler.

So I have had quite a few PMs about making more wooden roof racks to sell outright to members.
My profession: Master contractor/rustic furniture hobbyist.

Please respect my trade and don't spew shit in here. Don't need to hear: "Make it yourself", "overpriced" etc. Some people don't own a planer, router or table saw that can handle hardwood. I just got a LOT of response and PMs to put this up. So here it is:

    Build thread:

I am currently working out making two racks for members on this forum.

I have enough for 3 racks with my supply of white oak. I can get more so there is no limit to who can get one made.

So what I am offering is:
My trade of woodworking to fab up a rack of how ever you desire. There really is NOTHING I cannot build rack wise. I can weld up custom baskets and incorporate wooden slats to give it a wicked euro theme.

Now this is a feeler but I will post up a price for what I made already.

300.00 includes the oak and woodworking/finished product drilling and counter sinks. Don't think those slats are all I can do, ANY thickness or size you want. Really if you link me with a rack I can make it IE wood or metal.

Finish is 10.00 for stain useage and my time applying. If you want to do it yourself by all means. FYI stain cost 5-10 for a little tin. I own about 50 colors and would apply three coats of one or combos.

If you want a RV polyurethane finish: 50.00 for 3 coats, reason being it is VERY time consuming and insanely annoying to get even and smooth using a proper non spray poly. It is a skill in it's own right to apply it.

Hardware is 35.00, and that includes blacken finish from a blow torch.

So that is a base price, but the sky is the limit. Of course welding will make it more expensive, but PM me for my phone # and we can talk out designs and what you're looking to pull off.

All you need to supply is a rack, feet or whatever you desire. I could start with the ebay rack, use the feet and fab it up to go lower.

I followed you build for this, and it's so cool. I'm sure you'll have some takers. Free bump for super solid work.
