    Feeler: GB, Memphis car audio

OK kids, here is the deal. Memphis will sign me as an exclusive dealer if I can make a $3K wholesale deal. I still gotta pay taxes and stuff on this gear, but I am willing to let a GB go...cheap.

    Here is their site http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/

This gear is pretty damn good, IMO. Not my first choice for SQ, not my first choice for SPL, but just about the best value around. Good enough that I am not gonna carry any other brand of amp or sub until I really NEED to.

I would rather cut a fat deal on this gear than any other.

Here is the deal: You get this stuff at about 10% over my cost. You will get a reciept from me, who would be the ONLY dealer in my area. I will ship to any BUSINESS address...no home deliveries AT ALL.

I am offering NO WARRANTY SUPPORT AT ALL...read this carefully. If you have a problem, don't even call me, call the company. Tell them you bought it from me, a buddy who lives in Oregon...then SHIP IT TO THEM! YOU are responsible for any and all warranty issues.

The same goes for refund...don't even ask. I simply do not care, nor will I have the bux to give you back. I am trying to open a shop, so I am broke as hell.

I am NOT going to open boxes, this will ship sight unseen.

That being said, I really like their shit. If Charlie Mingus or Shostakovitch or Cole Porter is a regular on your playlist, buy something else.

If you own any Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Dixie Chicks, Decendants, RATM, Tool, whatever...you will love this shit.

I am serious as a fucking heart attack on the customer service too. My GF, who is also the president of this company (Loud and Clear Car Audio) will be handling the GB. She will sign up here and other BMW and Chevy forums where I am a regular. She will be handling the transactions and the shipping, so you don't have to count on my ADD ass to get your shit out. She is tight where I am sloppy...you guys do not have a worry there.

All payment will be PayPal. Visa can be accepted, but with a 5% surcharge. (costs me more over the phone)

My custom sub boxes will not be part of this, but if you want one, I will build and ship at the same time.

Keep me posted, I wanna have this done by mid-feb.

Prices will be discused in PM only. Shipping costs will be actual cost, on a business account.

Mods, please delete this thread if I am violating any rules.

    Wish me Good Luck!

    Luke

FUCK YOU LUKE! GOD DAMMIT! Ok.... well.... count me in. Full setup as we discussed before.... Drop the JL idea and put me down for Memphis.

I WILL ATTEST TO MEMPHIS QUALITY. I sold this product years ago when it was fresh off the presses. I was completely impressed with $/$ qaulity against ANY brand. As Luke said... not the greatest and not the hardest hitting.... but when he gives you a pirce you aren't going to care. This shit is fairly cheap and good quality.

AIM Luke? This might take a while in PM land.......

OK guys...my intraweb is broken for a few days while Comcast finishes sucking my ass. I will be checking in and catching PM's at the shop, on our blazing 64K DSL.

I should be returning prices by about Jan 10 or so....waiting on snail mail.

                Luke

Closeout deals on '05 gear, too.

                    Still waiting on Snail Mail

Yes...sorry. I forgot to mention the whole "don't know model number" thing.

Did I ask you to make sure what impedance your woofs were?

Remember the whole " 2 ohms per channel" thing, so if you have 2 4 ohm woofs, you want to run them paralell on a 1 channel amp.

If you have 2 dual 4 ohm woofs, you want a 2 channel amp.

I think your Kenwood is shutting off because you have 2 4 ohm woofs, meaning a 2 ohm load, on a 2 channel amp, meaning it is seeing 1 ohm per channel...thus gettting too hot.

I will get back to you ASAP after you are sure what woofs you have.

                        Luke

I have 2 10" Orion XTR III, 4 ohm drivers and am running in parallel bridged on a two channel amp that claims to be 2 ohm stable. (KAC 7201) I think it is dipping below 2 ohms just enough to make it warm up and go into protection after several hours (this only happens on my long trips where it is on for 12 hours)

Let me know which amp(s) I should look at and when you have them give me prices shipped to L.A. 90024

                          Gracias

The 2 ohm stable thing is 2 ohms per channel...when wired in mono, each channel of the amp sees 1/2 the load, so you are wired for 1 ohm per channel. Your amp is going into current limiting, but the fact that is plays for an hour and a half (especially where you live some of the time) is simply amazing.

A mono amp will be way happier. The little 500 D should just rock, but I would opt for a bigger one.

Are you running amp power to your mids and highs? Maybe a 5 channel would be a good choice.

I have a Tsunami DB4440 75x4 amp running the front MB Quart tweeters & 6.5 mids a pair of 6.5's in back. I only need an amp for the woofers, hit me up with the price on the 16-PRD1000.1.

                              Thanks.

BTW I am going on a 2200 mile L.A. run at the end of the month. How should I rewire the subs so I don't have to worry about it going out? Put them on seperate channels running unbridged?

                              Thanks again.
