    Nikon FM2+MD-12 motordrive+4 lenses+flash= awesome buy

So boys and girls, I'm selling my beloved Nikon FM2, lenses flash, etc so I can save up for a Nikon D50. After no luck selling it at work, eBay and Craigslist I've decided to put it on consignment starting tomorrow, so its the last chance to get it. I've dropped the price from my original asking price of $600. My asking price is $450 (+ shipping from Sacramento). I accept PayPal.

    Here's what I'm including...

Nikon FM2n camera body. Fully manual and mechanical 35mm SLR. Very good condition condition (has some small cosmetic blemishes on pentaprism). Includes owners manual.

Nikon Nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens. A fast and very sharp standard lens. Includes Hoya 52mm UV (0) filter. Very good condition.

Nikon Nikkor 24mm f2.8 lens. Perhaps one of Nikon’s best wide angle lenses ever. Includes Hoya 52mm Skylight (1B) filter. Very good condition.

Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f2.8 zoom lens with macro. A rare, beautiful and fast zoom lens with macro. Includes Vivitar 62mm UV haze filter. Very good condition.

Nikon MD-12 motor drive. Allows the FM2 to shoot up to 3.2 frames per second. Fair condition.

Sunpak 422D flash. Includes Nikon specific NE-2D module and STD-1D module with 2’ coiled PC cord. Also includes a Sommers Bouncecard. Battery door has been modified to accept a Quantum Battery 1. Good condition.

Quantum Battery 1 and G interface cable. Requires a new battery module (about $20 on eBay). Very good condition.

Tokina 2x doubler. nicely manufactured lens. Very good condition.

Tokina SZ-X 80-200mm f4.5 zoom lens with macro. Excellent condition.

Assorted filters. 1 Hoya 52mm R (25A) filter (for shooting black & white infrared), 1 62mm FL filter (for neutralizing flourescent lighting), 1 Hoya 62mm 80A filter (blue filter for using daylight under tungsten lighting)

I can go as low as $500, the reserve I had on my eBay auction, but no lower. Buyer pays all shipping costs from 95670.

umm thats a bit high for that on these forums. to get that price you got to goto a photography forum. i just bought a d50 like 8 months ago. and i wanna upgrade to the F1. those things are awsome! i was all manuel black and white with a darkroom... but it requires way too much work. the d50 is nice and inexpensive! good luck. o and PS youll prolly get $300 on this forum for that and prolly $450-$475 on a photography forum.

But i do wish you good luck!

I got my d50 for $800 id sell it to you for $750 if you want it. I dont need to sell it but id be happy to help a fellow BMW/Nikon person!

Thanks for the response and the offer, but I'm getting a D50 kit (18-55) through work for less than $650. I'm also planning on getting the 55-200, a new bag, spare battery, SD card and a few other bits. I have a little less than half the money I need. If it doesn't sell soon there's a shop near me that sells on consignment (I sold a view camera through them a few years ago), but that means breaking up the kit, and not all the items may be sellable on their own (but I should still come out of the deal with the $550 I'm looking for). After speaking with a few friends who are pro photographers, $550 is actually a very good price for all of the equipment I am selling. The lenses alone are worth close to $600 on their own.

Good luck; the fact that it's been available this long means it's either overpriced or hasn't reached the right audience. Frankly, with digital cameras and especially DSLR's getting cheaper and cheaper every day, the longer it sits the less immediate value it has (the more collector's value it has, but then it has to be mint, in box, all paperwork, etc).

You said you had no luck selling it on eBay...I can only guess you had your reserve too high. I've sold $8,000+ worth of camera gear on eBay in the last 6 months and had no "problems" selling it; I just started it low and listed with no reserve. Whatever it's worth is what someone will pay.

                        Just my $.02...

Thanks for your comments. I could have parted it out and sold it quickly, but, call me sentimental, I felt it would be better to sell it as a complete kit. The eBay thing was bad timing on my part (auction ended on X-mas eve), and I lost interest in relisting it. As for pricing, my original asking price of $600 was quite fair according to a number of pro photographers I know. At $450, its downright rediculous. No matter, tomorrow it's on its way to Camera Arts, a local shop to be sold on consignment. I'll let the owner of the shop part it out if she feels its necessary. I've sold equipment through them before and should have no problem selling it, I just figured I'd offer it to this group first.
