when i did the e36 rack upgrade in an airbag car, i had to cut away the firewall a little so the steering shaft could move over a little closer the the center of the car.

Given the differences in shaft sizes between airbag vs. non-airbag cars, do you think the 2nd shaft you include could be modified to accommodate the size difference?

It looks like it should work with the extra shaft. I'll measure the shaft when I get home tonight.

The extra shaft is 13" long and 18" long with the joints. You can always cut the shaft if the setup is too long.

How many miles are on this unit? Is there any play in the unis?

The clincher: Would you be willing to post to Australia?

Would be awesome for bmw 2002/e30 rack swap. In the 2002 chassis.
Its imposible to put a e30 rack in a 2002. The e30 rack is designed to fit infront of the subframe, and the 2002 steering box and linkage is behind the sub frame. Only rack swap for a 2002 is a e21 rack and even that requires a lot of fabrication. I speak from experience and not just here say.
