      wait why are these illegal in the US? is it country wide or state specific?? ive seen plenty of these on street driven cars..

        Because of the yellow light. It's mostly state by state. But you can get pulled over in CA even where it is technically legal due to some language in the statutes.

        Some of the fines are almost 200 dollars. Not worth the risk in my opinion. I move around a lot so I don't want to have to worry about changing these out if I go somewhere that it isn't legal. But even in France they aren't yellow as a standard anymore.

          Technically any light that doesn't say DOT on it is illegal.

          Most cops aren't going to stop an clean E30 with French lights though.

              There is documentation in the Internet proving these are DOT approved and street legal.. A friend of mine has the proper documentation and he's been pulled over before and cops couldn't do anything about it because he had the documents. I just purchased a set too. Love em
