Yeah I'm sure if everyone wanted a valve cover like that, they could spend the time to do it themselves. They could also: Make their own front splitter, machined shift knob, reupolstered interiors, kopi wheels, smoked us ellipsoids... the list goes on. The people on here are just trying to make some money and help out the e30 community.
