E30 Hardtop - $750

Selling it because I now have storage space for the car so I no longer need it. Its not in the best shape, but it does its job. The seals are in immaculate shape. The headliner sags a little bit, there are some water stains on the "C" pillar and, worst of all, the hardtop itself is rippled. The top is rippled and the headliner is stained because one of the previous owners didn't adjust the hardtop pins before he locked everything down and ended up lightly stripping the one of the pins and rippling the hardtop structure. Ill let the pictures do the talking...









Unfortunately, I don't think the rippling is repairable. From what I read, the internal honeycomb structure is broken/tweaked. But that's just what the internet says and it wasn't specific to the E30 top, just hardtops in general. That's why I'm selling it so cheap.

This looks a lot like my old hard top. I wonder how many owners its been through since me. It had those ripples when I bought it in 2010. The stains weren't there however. GLWS

Its fiberglass under the material. I maybe wrong. I just do not understand that.

I believe you are correct in that there is fiberglass under the vinyl covering. I was under the impression that the hardtop had a honeycomb structure supporting the fiberglass. Something like this photo:

u guys are correct it is a fiberglass material beneather the vynal. I have a post of my repainted hard top if u'd like to see it along with pics. its alot of work but if done right will look amazing once painted. glws not a bad price for a rare peice

The top is located 30 mins north of the city of Pittsburgh, PA.

With that being said, I am willing to drive the top within 100 miles of the city with a non-refundable $50 paypal deposit to cover gas should the buyer bail.

Well come on over! The Vintage at Saratoga in Saratoga Springs, NY, is this weekend. You could make a sweet cross country road trip, stop in Pittsburgh on the way to NY to pick up the hardtop, and be the Bee's Knees at the event over the weekend (for owning the coolest E30 accessory imho).

In terms of shipping, I'm looking to sell the top to someone in the neighboring states at the moment. If I still have the top in a month or so I may consider shipping the top as an option.
