This is probably a dumb question, but I was wondering what kind of clearance you have under your car. I am looking for new suspension for my 318is and I am terrified of being too low. An oil pan is a terrible thing to waste.

I have a 24v M50 so the oil pan is lower than a M20. With that being said, I am probably a good 6-8" from the oil pan to the ground on the stock 14" wheels and tires.
I hope this helps.SEE THE MOST BORING M50NV BUILD THREAD HERE: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=288275Comment

It really depends on where you are driving. For instance, locally they are redoing a road and stripped the old tarmac but left the manholes at their regular height. So, as you drive, every manhole or anything of the sort sits 3"+ above the road. It doesn't take much to pwn your oil pan. I've also sold a pan to a guy at stock ride height who has killed more than one of them. Buy a skid plate, they are cheap insurance, regardless of your ride height.88 325is - S52 powered

Sorry for lack of responses, I graduated Sacramento State and went on a couple vacations in the last couple weeks. Also, the estimated 6 week delivery on my custom set of coilovers turned in to 16 weeks so I was couldn't sell my coils as anticipated. Luckily, I am scheduling to take off my suspension in the next week or so, and then these will be ready to sell. I do have a local buyer but he might not be completely serious.
