    Bluetooth Modded Carphone

Overall, this phone is in great shape. What makes it great, however, is the bluetooth mod. While you can not dial using the keypad, you can use the phone as if it was a working phone, provided that it is paired to your cell. Also, I have kept all of the analog internals, allowing you to get a no service tone, dial, and everything else that the phone can do with no service.

Included is the phone itself, all of the analog brains to run it, and charging cables for the bluetooth module (this was done for simplicity, as I did not want to tamper with the internals to pull power for the BT module. this also allows you to use it with the car off). I have also included an antenna adapter (Mini UHF Male to TNC Female).

The cradle itself, also included, screws to the center console. I would recommend putting it behind the gap between the ebrake and shifter consoles. This should still give you access to the change tray next to the ebrake.

NOTE: No antenna is included. You do not need one to use the bluetooth portion. However, if you intend to run the analog internals, you will need one. Basically, it still transmits even though it does not see a network. You run the risk of burning up the analog brains without an antenna.

    Price: $100 + Shipping, OBO.

You will not find many other items like this. The ones that I know of sell for substantially more. If you have any questions, PM me.

Good work! I had this idea a while ago (when sparkfun made their rotary phone).

Are you driving the original speaker with the Bluetooth module? That might be an issue and the old headsets needed a lot of current. Could fail in time.

      Hats off - good idea.

The original speaker and mic were discarded in favor of the internals in the bluetooth donor handset. This is the third phone that I have converted. If you like what you see here, I'll probably be doing more of these in the future.

Well, find the BMW branded ones. They will be worth a lot more. They have "BMW" printed on the handset.

Oh, and mod the base unit so it just lights up the keys. Those old school phones put out like 5 watts. FCC banned them cause of the caner risks.
